It is really too soon to tell at this point.  Implants go through a lot of changes during the healing phase.  I would be patient, and let your body heal from the surgery. Follow up with your plastic surgeon in the next couple of  months so they can monitor you for capsular contracture.  Good luck

Your skin and soft tissue over the implant will stretch and relax and the implants will gradually take on a more natural shape.  This is a common stage when large implants are placed in a tight soft tissue envelope.  I would be patient at this point. 

Hello, capsular contracture can't occur only 5 days postop because the capsule hasn't formed yet.  Implants often look different at first then they settle over time.

At 5 days post operative you are very early in the healing process. It is unlikely you would have developed a capsular contracture at 5 days post operative. It is normal for breasts to feel hard and tight at this point. Swelling will conitnue to subside with time and implants will settle with time. 

At
this point in your recovery, it is much too soon to be worried about the
outcome. It is not possible for you to have a capsular contracture at 5 days.  It takes time for the implants to settle into position and the
skin and muscle to stretch out to accommodate the new implant. It may be
6 months or more before the shape has reached its final look. Be patient. What it appears you have is muscle spasm.

Capsular contracture is a gradual process that will not be seen just five days after breast augmentation. Your implant is moderate in size and the skin should relax as the implants settle in. Do see your surgeon to make certain there is no problem such as bleeding causing tightness (we like to check things after two to three days) and otherwise you should do well.

Thanks for your question and photo.  This is way too early to develop a capsule, let alone for that capsule to contract. For muscular women, the strong pectoral muscles will compress and distort the implants early on, most often not symmetrically, and often with the "handed" side being more distorted. Expect improvement as the muscle relaxes to accommodate the implant over the next 3 months or so. Try not to worry, and follow with your surgeon.All the best. 

Thank you for your question! At 5 days it is very early in they healing process.  At this time during recover you are at the peak in regards to swelling. One side side of your body heals differently than the other and you will notice some asymmetries as I'm sure some were present prior to surgery. With that being said, there should not be a significant asymmetry but minor ones. Capsular contracture is highly unlikely this early, we suggest at the 2 week period you being breast massage and this should be demonstrated by your surgeon, this will help keep the implants soft and help decrease the chances of developing capsular contracture. 

It would help to see a photo of your anatomy before surgery. I too have a concern about your breast symmetry but the result may be reflection of your inherent breast shape. If so, your augmented breast will show the same differences that predate your surgery. Perfect symmetry will be unlikely if your breasts were this different from the start If not, the fact that your result is quite early leaves adequate time for the symmetry to improve. Capsular contracture is a problem that develops much later then 5 days post surgery and is certainly not a factor in your present appearance.

The appearance seen in your photos is normal for 5 days after subpectoral implant placement.  It is caused by the tight pectoralis muscles compressing and distorting the implants.  It is very common for the muscles on one side to have more tightness and spasms than the other, and it does not seem to correlate with whether you are right or left handed.  Depending on your implant size relative to your body and your natural elasticity, it will take weeks to months for them to settle.  It is too early to have a capsular contracture, because you are not healed enough yet to have scar capsules.
