Dear Nounouk, You did not mention what type of implant you are considering but whether it's silicone or saline, that size implant (even in the lowest profile) will leave you with more gap on the sides and in the cleavage than a slightly wider (therefore more cc's) implant would. If cleavage is important to you, you should go with a wider implant. You just have to understand what the final result will be. No one can say what cup size you will be because bras are all made so differently. A silicone implant will give you less projection than a saline implant will. A silicone implant will look and feel more natural than a saline implant. Usually, I find that if I stick to an implant that comes very close to the base width, it looks very natural in size, regardless of what the bra size says.
Thank you for question. You have what looks like pretty good quality skin. The bigger an implant you put in the less natural it’s going to look. A 300cc implant certainly could fit your body quite nicely, but I don’t know that you’ll have as natural abreast as someone who has a little more laxity to their skin. But please keep in mind that natural look is a very subjective description and may mean different things to you than it does to me. You can also maintain that same breast width and go with an Implant with more projection if you want a little more size. It may give you more of an augmented look than a natural luck. In my practice, I have the Vectra. 3-D imaging system and we can try different size and shape implants on which can give you a pretty accurate assessment of what your postop look might be. This has been a very helpful tool for patients as they’ve moved forward towards the breast augmentation surgery. Good luck with your breast surgery journey.
Yes, that might be actually slightly too much volume for your breasts based on the single photo. I would recommend seeing multiple plastic surgeons to ensure that you are comfortable with the volume.
275- 300 range it’s small for you, if you want a full c you need at least 350cc, Your implants should go under the muscle because there is no enough glandular tissue to give cover to the implants
275cc-300cc's is good for a C cup, but for a fuller profile you'd want more than 300 cc's, closer to 350cc.
After I measure and discuss goals with my patients, we then look at pictures of women (my patients) with similar measurements with different size breast implants. They also get to see what they would look like when the breasts have fully dropped and fluffed and in clothes. You get to see actual results and the surgeon' s experience and not a virtual idea of what can be achieved. Women tell me that this process is very helpful in determining what is right for them. Thank you for sharing your question and photograph. Unfortunately nothing replaces an in-person examination but for most patients that implant will be too small and implants in the 300cc and higher range will better match your tissues.
Dear nounouk, breast implant type and sizing selection is a complicated process and requires a detailed consultation that includes a discussion of your goals, a detailed examination, and a lengthy discussion. But the decision will always start and end with the patient. When it comes to sizing, we have all of our patients find 3 photos of their desired breast size. We ask for naked breast photos because clothing can obscure the true size (push up bras). Next, we consult with patients and go over the photos and take detailed breast measurements during a physical exam. Next, we using a sizing algorithm to determine a range of implants that will work based on the exam and the measurements.Lastly, during the operation, we use silicone sizers in the operating room to see how the size actually looks in the breast. We sit the patient up in the operating room, while asleep of course, and compare the sizer result with their desired look photos. If it is too small, we start the process over with a slightly larger implant. We don't stop until we get the perfect match.Of all of my breast augmentation patients, every one of them has been happy with their size due to this detailed and meticulous process. You don't want to invest time and money into a result that is either too big or too small. You should discuss your concerns with a board-certified plastic surgeon and make sure that your surgeon understands your goals.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Thank you for your question and photo. As you undoubtedly know, a precise treatment plan or specific implant recommendation can only be determined with a careful examination and detailed discussion with your plastic surgeon. Volume (300 versus 275), is far less significant than implant width and projection, as you already seem to understand. Implant width is similar to shoe size. The implant literally needs to fit into your breast and chest. It is true that for a given volume a high profile implant will have a narrower diameter. The term “natural” can mean different things to different people and the profile of the implant does not necessarily determine that. You can certainly achieve a “natural” appearing result with a high profile implant if properly selected, but as a rule, the larger the implant and the higher the profile, and certainly if the implant is positioned too high, the greater the chances you will look “augmented” because of exaggerated upper pole fullness or convexity. In my practice, besides a thorough interview process and physical examination with careful measurements, we use on lay sizers within an unpadded bra to help you understand what you are likely to look like in a bra, bathing suit, or T-shirt with a given size implant. In addition, and this is critical, we ask all of our patients to provide us with photos of their desired final look, with images of women’s breasts that most closely resemble the look they are trying to achieve. This serves as a visual guide that thankfully rarely leads us astray. The most common reason for patient disappointment after breast augmentation is size-too big or not big enough. This algorithm which we have been employing for over thirty years has proven to be very successful. Because all of these factors can leave you quite confused, it is crucial that you select an experienced board certified plastic surgeon whose aesthetics align with your own, and with whom you feel comfortable. Don't be reluctant to seek a second or even third opinion if necessary to be sure and feel confident about moving forward with scheduling surgery. Expressing your desired cup size is notoriously inaccurate, and final breast size is the most common reason for patient disappointment after breast augmentation, either too big or not big enough.Take your time, do your research. Best of luck to you.
Hello and thank you for posting. I believe 275cc might be a little small for a C cup and with breast augmentation it is better to err on the larger size of the rage….. because that is basically the goal of a breast augmentation. 300cc seems perfect though. Going above 300cc might stretch your tissue too much and make them look unnatural. I would recommend 300cc, but anything between 275 and 300cc will be great. Best if luck, Dr. Miguel Mota
There is no age limitation when considering breast augmentation. If you are healthy and want to have this procedure then you should! Begin by visiting with a few board certified plastic surgeons near you for consultations. You can find some guidance on the ASPS website.
If needed, an internal bra with mesh can be used to minimize movement of implants for a better position.
Thank you for your question. At the time of initial breast augmentation consultation you will be examined. Measurements of different parameters of your breast will be taken and written down. Following examination in establishing your baseline measurements a sizing exam will be done. ...
