Typical Consult to Breast Augmentation surgery timeline?

I recommend an in person consultation with a plastic surgeon to discuss your goals and be measured. After I measure and discuss goals with my patients, we then look at pictures of women (my patients) with similar measurements with different size and style breast implants, and they choose what looks right for them. They also get to see what they would look like when the breasts have fully dropped and fluffed and in clothes. You get to see actual results and the surgeon's experience and not a virtual idea of what can be achieved. This really depends on the surgeon and how busy he or she are. Most surgeons will try to get you scheduled sooner rather than later, depending on your schedule and theirs. Best wishes!

Hi there,Every surgeon has a different practice but I would say most patients have their initial consultation, pre-operative appointment, surgery date, and then 2-6 post-ops over the first year depending on their procedure and wound healing. Hope that helps!

On average, it takes 6-10 weeks from initial consultation to day of surgery in my practice and many other busy plastic surgeon practices.

Schedule vary widely depending upon the physician you see and the area you live. Some can be scheduled fairly quickly, and some may be scheduled out for a few months.

Thank you so much for your question! The whole process is really simple in my clinic in Istanbul, first of all send pictures of your breast for evaluation by virtual consultation. One day before the surgery you will have a face to face consultation with doctor and talk about your desired breast and implant brand. All of the pre-operation tests will be done one day before surgery as well. After 1 night stay at the hospital you need to rest for 2-3 days and come to the check up with doctor. You will be given all aftercare recommendations and you will be allowed to fly back on the next day. The further follow up will be provided online anytime it is needed. Hope it helped!

The answer to your question is that it depends. Some patients will schedule surgery after seeing one surgeon, while others prefer to hear multiple opinions. Once surgery is scheduled, based on your time frame and the surgeon's, there is typically another preoperative appointment. Sometimes this is with the surgeon and sometimes this is with another staff member. This will detail how to prepare for your surgery day. After surgery your surgeon will want to see you at scheduled intervals to monitor your progress and answer questions. Often times the first appointment will be within the first week of surgery, and then become further spaced after that as long as there are no concerns.

Everyone is different on when they see the surgeon initially, and when they schedule or have the procedure. I have seen patients on a Monday, and performed the procedure on Thursday! Our office policy is the patient must have their pre-op and labs within 30 days of their actual procedure. There is not written rule of the initial consultation and date of procedure. That's mostly up to you and the OR schedule.

At the time of initial breast augmentation consultation you will be examined. Measurements of different parameters of your breast will be taken and written down. Following examination in establishing your baseline measurements a sizing exam will be done. Typically we ask you to wear a special brawl we have in the office and different sized breast implant sizers will be placed into the bra and you will be asked to look in the mirror and feel the sizers with your hands to see which size you like best.

I also ask you to go to a specific website I recommend that shows patients in the nude before and after breast augmentation with the size of the implant noted below the photographed.

I ask you if you decide to book to bring at least 2 or 3 of the results that you want to see on your body to your preoperative examination so that I me see if the size we have chosen will achieve that result.

Once you decide to book your surgery scheduling can take anyplace from 3-4 weeks to 2 or 3 months however openings always occur in a surgeon schedule if you want to be done sooner notify the surgeon and they will make every attempt to accommodate you.

You point you have your surgery you will be seen in the office the next day after surgery to make sure that you are stable do not have any bleeding or other problems. In my practice at this exam the day after surgery you will be able to see your breast is a remove your bra to let you see your result and to change her dressing.

In my practice you will be seen again at 2 weeks to remove a small suture that is very easy to remove that has been placed underneath the skin during your surgery

At the 2 week examination if all is stable he will be able to return to moderate activity including gentle aerobics, yoga lower body exercises. I will caution you to avoid push-ups, chin-ups, or heavy bench pressing of weights for another 4 weeks after surgery and will also suggest you avoid sexual intercourse for another 4 weeks.

I will see you again at 6 weeks to make sure all is well and this will be her last routine appointment. If however at any time during your recovery you need to be seen ICU immediately and do not wait.
