Is it possible to remove a breast lump during augmentation? (Photo)

Question

I have a lump on the right lower side of my right breast (I've had it checked out and it is just fatty tissue). Can it be removed during my BA surgery? I am planning on doing a crease incision.

The photo shows a localized contour bulge in the lower outer breast area, but the key issue is the confirmed diagnosis, not the appearance alone. If breast imaging and an exam have confirmed that this is benign fatty tissue, removal can sometimes be combined with breast augmentation.

The details matter. The lump may need a separate small incision, a different surgical plan, or removal by a breast surgeon depending on its location and depth. Any removed tissue should usually be sent to pathology. Removing tissue at the same time as implant placement can also affect breast contour, blood supply, scarring, and symmetry, so it has to be planned carefully. If the lump is new, growing, tender, or not fully evaluated, breast workup should be completed before cosmetic implant surgery.

Yes, just ask your surgeon during the consultation to remove this lump at the same time as the augmentation.

Yes your surgeon may be able to remove the lump during your augmentation.  You will want to bring test results showing that it is a fatty growth and not suspicious.  I encourage you to find a double board certified plastic surgeon to help with this.  Others, like myself, are double board certified in both surgery and plastic surgery.
