Although it appears as though you are missing cartilage in the lower portion of your nose, what you are seeing is a combination of thick skin and weak , malpositioned lower lateral cartilage. You would be an excellent candidate for rhinoplasty. I would suggest discussing your concerns with an experienced rhinoplasty surgeon where we will be able to discuss your surgical options with you in detail.
Thank you for the provided photos. The rhinoplasty might be performed using the rib cartilage transfer if needed in order to fix the tip of the nose. Also, the nasal hump reduction should be done in order to give your nose a better shape and make the bridge of your nose visually thinner. Thus, the rhinoplasty surgery can definitely fix the aesthetical and functional problems of your nose in case if the Surgeon is qualified. I would also suggest a consultation in person in order to explain and give the detailed treatment information. Hello and thank you for your question. Based on yourphotograph, you may benefit from a tip refining rhinoplasty. Your surgeon canaccomplish this by trimming, suturing, and reshaping the cartilage in yourlower nose. You may also benefit from an alar batten graft to help provide improved symmetry. Makesure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patientswho have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and not just a computeranimation system. The most important aspect is to find asurgeon you are comfortable with. I recommend that you seek consultation with aqualified board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate you in person.Best wishes and good luck.Richard G. The lower lateral cartilage could be replaced using ear cartilage. Hopefully this would be a permanent solution that would not require further surgery. However, achieving symmetry is very difficult and certainly could require further procedures.
Dear anmol, Thanks for posting your pictures. From observing your pictures, you appear to lack the left lateral crura of the lower lateral cartilage, which supports the nostril.. That can be corrected by placing a strut of cartilage graft to support the nostril and improve on the alar notching. Additional maneuvers can be performed in order to improve your nose - flattening the dorsal bridge, refining the tip, narrowing the bony slopes and the nostrils. You have to realize that not all results are the same, because experience, technical skills and aesthetic eye are critical for good outcome. So, do your due diligence carefully and choose your surgeon wisely. Always, consult with experienced board certified plastic surgeons who operate in accredited surgery center for your safety. Most importantly, check the before and after pictures to make sure that they are numerous, consistent and attractive. Best of luck, Dr Widder
Based on your photos- you appear to be a good candidate for Rhinoplasty. Although you have a unique condition- it can be improved significantly -with closed Rhinoplasty techniques. Although you may have some residual asymmetry post-operatively- you can expect a significant improvement - in the right hands.
A thorough examination of the nose going to be required to make a determination about why there's no cartilage on one side of your nose. More information is needed such as, have you had a previous rhinoplasty? The alar notching can be addressed for the composite graft harvested from skin and ear cartilage.
Hi. You most certainly have your LLCs but one side is weaker and smaller and more retracted. It is very rare for both sides to be symmetric but yours are a bit more extreme. Yes this can be corrected with Alar strut and rim grafts.
Thanks for your question. You have what's called a "parenthesis deformity" where your lower lateral cartilages run up the middle of your nose instead of fanning out. This is something that can be addressed with a variety of rhinoplasty procedures, but be sure you go with someone who is experienced. Good luck!
