I had an unsightly flesh-colored mole on my nose, and I had not believed that it could be removed without significant scarring. He did such an amazing job that one week later, I could not tell that anything had ever been there! So pleased and thankful for his expert judgement and gifted hands.
Motivated by tragic story not worth repeating.....Nose had been smashed in, almost beyond recognition ...Doctor Schmidt extremely helpful.......Multitalented, master of his field/ Surgeon and ENT M.D.....This physician totally reconstructed my nose.....extremely pleased with results and experience.....no words could describe my gratitude.....
I have experienced chronic congestion and sinus infections throughout my entire life. This review is only 8 hours post op, but I feel a tremendous pressure relief in my face. I had a severely deviated septum which was causing obstruction of normal sinus drainage. This was all observed by a CT scan of my sinuses in his office. I was very nervous about the procedure but Dr. Schmidt ensured I was relaxed once I was checked into the day surgery area. The pain was around 8 out of 10 in the recovery area when anesthesia started to wear off, but I was given pain medication and the pain has been under control since then. I highly recommend Dr. Schmidt! His office staff and medical assistant were all great and helped answer all of my questions before the procedure, and I had a ton of them! Like I said this is only 8 hrs post op, but I already feel a huge relief in sinus pressure! Thank you Dr. Schmidt!
As an allergy sufferer with puffy and tired looking eyes, I needed some overall freshening up. Dr. Schmidt took the time to lay out his recommindations for treatment in a way which made me feel comfortable, safe and respected. His bed side manor during the entire treatment process was outstanding. He took the time to explore and explain different options which would fit my budget, all the while listening to me and never making me feel rushed, as many doctors do. We decided on Botox for my 11's, crows feet and an eyebrow lift, as well as Restalyn in my tear troughs for my tired eyes, and in my nasolabial folds for an all around younger appearance. Reporting a week later, I have to say I am super excited and pleased with the results!!! My advice to anyone sitting on the fence about getting something similar done is WHY WAIT? DO IT NOW!!!! I don't know why I waited so long. Dr. Schmidt is more than competent and is in a great location. There's no need to go to Houston or Austin for a reputable Dr. He's right here in College Station. Thanks Dr. Schmidt and The Faceplace for the refresher. The results are amazing!
like so many of us, I have been considering a facelift for some time. I needed to find the right doctor with all the credentials. Dr Schmidt in College Station Texas at "The face place" was the doctor I chose. He is not only an ear nose and throat doctor but also a plastic surgeon. double certified.,Today is Sunday my surgery is scheduled for Wednesday yikes. I have taken my before and after pictures and will post this note after surgery is complete along with ongoing updates and pictures of my recovery.I also should note that I have had a weight loss of 50 pounds. from 195 pounds to 140-145 from a size 18-20 to a size 10 or12. Updated on 26 Mar 2015: my before pictures that wouldn't load yesterday. Updated on 26 Mar 2015: I am out of surgery and literally don't have any pain. I was a little bit dizzy for about an hour but I am sure that was the drugs wearing off. My turkey neck is gone and I am happy happy happy! My red lips (photo) is from the dermabrasion. It feels like a slight sunburn but only when the wind hits it. That problem is solved by simply putting Bacitracin ordinate On my lips. I am following all my instructions and keeping my head elevated and wrapped. I was giving a prescription pain medication however I don't really need it. Going to use tylenol instead. Updated on 26 Mar 2015: Dr Schmidt wanted me in his office the day after surgery. I am doing well and I am where I should be. I have Minimal bruising. No bruising on my face at all. only on my neck. keeping in mind I didn't have my eyes done. I am still without pain so have chosen to stop talking Tylenol. if I get no other point across to you, I need you to understand this didn't hurt. I am a huge baby and if I knew this 2 years ago I would have already had the surgery. you may look like you've been run over by a truck but you don't feel like it, honestly you don't. Just pick your doctor wisely as I have done. I can't even feel my stitches, weird I know but I'm not complaining.. Updated on 26 Mar 2015: Visited Dr. R. Schmidt today in his office. I have made huge improvements. I am so pleased with my lift and my neck. Oh my goodness, I now have a neck! I can buy turtlenecks again and get my necklaces out of the safety deposit box. I avoided those for years. my husband had bought me a beautiful necklace for Christmas but it was kind of short and I took it back because of my ugly neck. I don't have to do that anymore. I can wear what I want to. Thank You Dr. Schmidt, your the greatest! Updated on 31 Mar 2015: Just, a quick update. Dr Schmidt removed all of my stitches with the exception of the ones that are dissolvable. You can clearly see by my picture the stitches in front of my ears are completely invisible at day 13. The ones at my temple are pink and should fade very quickly. Dr Schmidt said that I could hit the gym again hallelujah. I am feeling great, healthy In loving my new look
Went to visit Doctor R. Schmidt about a rhinoplasty. My nose was shaped like a parrot's beak with a hump and turned under at the tip. Dr Schmidt explained the procedure and answered each of my questions so I booked the surgery. I was also shown a book of his work and was very satisfied with the results.
Dr. Schmidt listened to all my concerns and then offered an affordable path to resolve my cyst acne issues. We also scheduled a very affordable series of laser treatments to eliminate hair growth from my chin area. He prescribed an antibiotic and recommended laser treatments for the affected areas.
I've been considering having my eyelids done for several years. Heavy, droopy lids seem to run in my family. After my eye doctor commented on the the two years I knew it was time to do some research. Several of my friends had seen or had procedures by by Dr. Schmidt and I was familiar with his clinic and reputation already. Dr. Schmidt explained everything from start to finish and even though I was still nervous I was comfortable in my choice. Once he started the procedure I was completely at ease and didn't eve squeeze the little nerve ball once!!! I felt no pain and it was over before I knew it. Once I got home I followed all his directions to the tee and went back to work the following Monday. My stitches were removed a week later and the swelling is better everyday.(even though it's not bad at all) :) From my experience I am very pleased with my progress and look forward to the final results in a few months!!!
So I had my revision rhinoplasty last week & had my stitches and cast taken off today ! It’s something I’ve been planning for over year. Trying to find the right and qualified surgeon. Well I did ! Dr.Robert Schmidt at West End plastic surgery did a fabulous job! My biggest issue was not being able to breathe out of my left nostril after having my first Rhino at 14! It had collapsed due to too much scar tissue inside. I also had it tweaked a little to look more natural and not have that overly operated on look anymore! I’m still very swollen, but it will just keep getting better and better! I’m ecstatic with the results ! The first picture is from my initial consultation and the second is from today! Thank you @drrobertschmidtmd, he is a genius at what he does & is a great guy!!!! Updated on 26 Aug 2020: So it's been about 8 month since my revision rhino. For the first couple months with the swelling everything looked great, but as time went on more and more imperfections started to show. My tip is extremely uneven . My right side is more bulbous and my left side Is more pointy and comes out further . I went back and forth for months , but Last month I was finally told I could get filler to try to make the tip more symmetrical. I had to pay an extra $600 along with the almost $9000 I paid for the rhinoplasty from him. And I'll have to get this filler for the rest of my life for it to look fine. I wouldn't have gone to dr.S had I known this would've been my outcome. I picked him because he said that he was specially a rhinoplasty revision expert. But I was wrong. Extremely disappointed.
Dr Schmidt was one of the least skilled surgeons I have ever met and least skilled surgeons with the worst bed side manner. Her performed a rhinoplasty on me and I contacted in two or three days later and told him that something was not right, but he ignored me to the point that when I saw him nine days later, I had developed necrosis of the skin and ended having a paramedian forehead flap which has changed my life totally. To the point where I do not want to leave my home and the doctor will not respond to any legal letters and will not respond to any registered mail and has basically just stopped communicating with me which is also known as patient and physician abandonment and there are rules and laws about this.
Thanks for your question. The issue of antibiotic use around the time of surgery is getting a lot more attention lately. For any kind of elective surgery, the general rules are, if you're going to use antibiotics, give a dose prior to the surgical incision and then use them for no more than 24 hours afterwards. For facial surgery, this is a reasonable guideline. Generally if I'm just doing upper eyelids, I won't give any systemic antibiotics and instead will have people use antibiotic ointment on their incisions afterwards. For what you're discussing, I'd probably have you get a dose in the operating room, and then either none at all afterwards or certainly not for more than a day after the surgery. Different surgeons have different practice patterns, though, so have this conversation with your doctor when you go for a consultation. Good luck!
Thanks for your question. Botox and Dysport are completely safe during your period. You don't need to worry about it at all. Good luck!
Thanks for your question. PREP shouldn't affect anything at all. I've done rhinoplasties for people who were PREP and others who were actually positive and on therapy, and all did just fine. Those medications won't affect anything at all. Good luck!
Thanks for your question. You have a couple of issues. The first is that a muscle that attaches to your septum, the depressor septi, is very strong. This can be detached from your septum during surgery. That is responsible for the dynamic pull, but you also have an under-rotated nose to begin with. I get the sense that the cartilage of your septum is a little too long. You also have big bulky lower lateral cartilages that could be slimmed in a rhinoplasty. As for submental liposuction, that could easily be added on as well. It's done through a small incision under your chin. Good luck with everything!
Thanks for your question. I'm sorry that you're going through this. The short answer is that, yes, a rhinoplasty can help this. The main goals of an evaluation with you would be to determine 1) what kind of damage was done and 2) then how to fix it. If you've never had surgery on your nose, this should be relatively straight forward as long as you pick someone who is experienced in revision rhinoplasty work. If you're having trouble breathing through your nose, make sure you mention it to your doctor because they can almost always fix that at the same time that the aesthetics are fixed. Good luck!
