Silicone implant in my nose bridge only, how safe is it? 3 weeks post rhinoplasty.

I had my nose surgery 3 weeks ago and after the surgery i got to know that the chances to get a infected nose after implants were used are higher. I‘m trying my best to recover on a right way, but i‘m worried that something bad can happen because of the silicone in my nose bridge. It even can get an infection after years or extrusion right?

Silicone implants do carry risk of infection and  extrusion.  The incidence of infection  is still relatively low if placed on the bridge alone but higher if an  L shaped implant which extends to the nasal tip is used. Implants such as gortex and medpore are believed by many to have a better safety profile.  Autologous use of ones own tissue has the lowest risk of infection but often requires removal of cartilage from ones ear or rib.
