I saw Dr. Kutz, for an upper blepharoplasty facelift and neck lift. Dr. Kutz is an outstanding doctor. I had consults from other places, but once I met him, I knew he was the one. He is very kind, humble and has a great sense of humor. I am just amazed at the improvements he was able to make to my eyes, face and neck. He is highly skilled and did such an amazing job! If you are nervous at all about taking the leap for cosmetic surgery, I recommend Dr. Kutz! My experience with Plastic And Hand was positive. It’s a very busy place with many doctors, medical staff and office staff. Dr. Kutz, has a very nice team of sweet nurses, Jenny and Stephanie are great! If you’re thinking about cosmetic surgery, please go get a consultation with Dr. Kutz and let him show you the before and after pictures of his patients. I think he’s the best! Dr. Kutz is an excellent surgeon. I am 4 weeks post- op breast augmentation and could not be happier. Kutz is very knowledgeable, skilled, has a great personality and he is a perfectionist. He delivered above and beyond my expectations with the size and shape I asked for. The incisions are healing better than expected and are already starting to fade. After 3 weeks they have already dropped to where they will stay. They look incredible and it has definitely given me back the confidence I needed. I am beyond impressed. Despite my nerves getting the best of me, he made me feel comfortable throughout the process. And everyone else at the practice was extremely kind and made me feel comfortable as well. I will go to him for anything else I would possibly need and I would recommend him to anyone considering a procedure. Thank you so much Dr. Kutz!
It took me about seven years of wanting (and debating) an abdominoplasty (full tummy tuck) before I decided to do it - and the only reason that finally convinced me was finding the right surgeon. Dr. Richard H. Kutz is the best out there. He is exceptionally professional, incredibly smart at what he does, and a perfectionist in his work. Throughout the entire process, Dr. Kutz provided the information I needed, answered my questions fully, and completely prepared me for this procedure and the recovery. There have been no surprises in this entire process, other than the amazing results I have experienced so quickly into recovery - due to his exceptional surgical work. I am forever grateful for his work as he has changed my life for the better, and I could not recommend Dr. Kutz enough. Updated on 19 Mar 2020: Morning before surgery (110 pounds) to 5 weeks post-op (108-109 pounds). Background: I am 5 feet tall and 39 years old. I had reached 200 pounds in pregnancy and in this 90 pound loss and extensive working out for years, I saw Dr.Kutz for a tummy tuck. He repaired my muscles and did loose skin removal. I could not be more thrilled at these results! And at 5 weeks post-op I am still swollen so this is not my full results. Dr.Kutz is the best plastic surgeon out there and I know no one else could have created results like these. I’m so happy and so grateful! Updated on 28 Aug 2020: Half year mark and I'm so happy with my results! One month ago, I had the dog ears removed and additional lipo to my flanks - so I'm still not at my "final" results but I couldn't be more thrilled with this six month post-op check-in and continuing to feel more "narrow" and defined. Truly, I couldn't have dreamed of results like this - and Dr. Kutz did beautiful work. Anyone in Maine - this is your surgeon. Updated on 28 Aug 2020: Before & After (now 6 months post-op) - another view to show how much skin was removed. Roughly the same weight (109 pounds) in both photos - now stomach has muscle repair and skin removal. So happy with this!
Dr. Kutz has an amazing bedside manner, is very well educated, down to Earth and extremely skilled. He talked to me in a way I could understand without giving me the feeling, as some surgeons do, that he was "dumbing down" his vocabulary or talking down to me. I feel he genuinely wants the best possible outcome for me and was truly happy when I was happy with my results. Although I am still very early in the healing process, I cannot see his disposition changing. His staff is polite, competent, responsive and eager to help. All the staff in this office is pleasant, they all seem so happy to see you. You feel like they all know you, personally. There is a very comforting feeling when your doctor and his staff are genuinely happy to see you.
Had a breast reduction done and could not be happier with my experience with Dr. Kutz. He was incredibly informative about the procedure and what to anticipate prior to and after the procedure. He was very helpful the day of surgery with answering last minute questions and making the atmosphere less stressful. He stopped by post operatively to check in and reassure me that the procedure went well and as planned. He truly listened to what I hoped for with my procedural outcome and absolutely delivered results that I could not be happier with! My recovery has been seamless and I know that should be fully attributed to his flawless surgery! I could not recommend Dr. Kutz highly enough... remarkable surgeon and experience!
I had been searching for a trustworthy doctor around the world to get a rhinoplasty and enhance breathing problems. Not only that, but also to get breast augmentation since I lost weight, I had become self conscious, so I searched about the best doctors for that in East coast until I found Dr. Kutz and from the first visit I felt I was in safe hands and I felt great how he understood what I want. I had my surgery for both nose and breasts almost a month ago and I'm really satisfied how the results become! I couldn't ask for more!
Dr. Kutz and his staff are wonderful. He took a lot of time explaining about my procedure and answering all my questions. The day of surgery I was very nervous, but knowing I was in good hands helped to dramatically reduce my stress. I could not be happier with my results and highly recommend Dr. Kutz!
My experience was and still is wonderful. Dr Kutz and his medical staff have been attentive to every need and question I’ve had for my procedure. I had a(n) tummy tuck and skin removal surgery. Dr Kutz is an amazing surgeon, the results are stunning. I always felt very comfortable asking him and his staff any questions, I called a few times because I didn’t quite know what to expect and I was always answered in a timely manner. I also explained certain concerns about trouble areas, Dr Kutz was very receptive to my concerns and took extra care of the areas that I was worried about. I would definitely use him again and would highly recommend him.
Good day ladies, I usually don't post to forums, but your posts were so helpful to me pre-op, that I wanted to share my experience, 11-day post-op, perhaps it may help someone. My original implants were 30 years old, silicone/saline, very nicely done but showed tears with possible leaks, from my breast MRI results six months ago. I never had pain, but the implants looked and felt a bit like hard balls. It was time for them to come out, no doubt. To prepare for the surgery, I carefully 'overtrained' for 4 weeks. My workout has always consisted of hard core full body weight lifting, cardio, a lot of pull ups/chin ups, dips, push ups, pilates, etc. I have weight lifted for over 30 years, and it shows. (Not bragging, just giving you a background, lol). My surgery on 10/4 went very well, 2 hours long, the Dr. needed to remove old implants along with some tissue that showed calcification. He said the implants were also calcified inside. The old implants were OVER the tissue. The new implants are UNDER the pec muscles (just the top half is placed under the muscle), which I thought I wouldn't want due to the additional recovery time, but I wanted them done correctly, and with good reasons, one being that my old implants had formed cavities over the last 30 years, so I needed to stay with the same size, and since I am very lean, with not too much breast tissue, and thin-ish skin (due to being 50). When I got home I vomitted twice due to the anesthesia, which I expected. However, that was the worst of it. I never needed to take the Oxy. Tylenol was all I needed, started with 1000mg every 6 hours, then I reduced it to 650mg, and then 500mg, then 325mg. After 7 days I didn't need any pain meds. Because I never took the oxy, I wasn't constipated either. On my 9 day post-op checkup, the Dr took the drainage tubes out (I needed these only because of the removal portion - removing calcified tissue meant flushing out the old cavities, and there was more swelling/drainage). So now for the good news part, I feel fabulous, the 'overtraining' was a good idea for me, it meant that the 9 post-op days that I 'rested', my body was recovering from the overtraining and also the surgery. I was extremely healthy to begin with, I have very strong pecs (per the Dr.), and all of this combined made for a super quick and easy recovery. Yesterday I started with riding the bicycle and raising my heart rate to about half my normal cardio rate, I was able to start on core/abs, and full lower body work-out (without lifting weights so basically I did the nautilus machines and lunges, etc.). Today I did the same, and added in the elliptical without arms, and walking at a 4 mph pace with 10 degree incline for 30 minutes, without swinging the arms. Tomorrow, per the Dr., I can add in some upper body, but i have to keep my arms close to my sides at all times, so he suggested bicep curls and triceps, using light weights. He said as soon as I move my arms away from the body (while using weights) the pec muscles will begin to engage, so to wait another few weeks for that, just listen to my body and I'll know when I'm ready. So far my muscle tone on my upper back and arms still shows (yeah!). Oh, and I kept my calorie intake exactly the same as pre-surgery, but I ate a little bit less carbs. I always have healthy fats/protein, etc in my diet. He said there is no proven result from wearing a bra or not wearing a bra, so it's a personal choice. I agree, but damn it felt good to take off that medical bra after 9 days and go bra free for a while! My nipples are ultra sensitive now, so clothes rubbing on them isn't extremely comfortable. Everyone is different, and some women will lose the nipple sensation for a while. I will be doing PT, just to be pro-active about having a full recover. I hope this info helps someone! Great forum, fabulous ladies, stay positive, and remember to listen to whatever your doctor tells you!
Writing this at 6 days post-op, this post is about my experience prior to the consult and the consult itself. Summary: Rhinoplasty done: reduced the nostril size, removed (most of, potentially all) the dorsal hump, and pinch the tip together to give it a less bulbous appearance. Recovery has not been nearly as bad as expected. Overall had an excellent experience with Plastic and Hand and Dr. Kutz. Would recommend anyone going there. Prior to the consult: Called a few different offices around the state to ask about consultation cost, seeing before and after photos and basic questions. All the consultation costs were about the same, but Plastic and Hand was the most courteous and informative from the initial call. The receptionist recommended I email Dr. Richard Kutz to ask questions. He responded quickly and even said he would take a look at photos of my nose via email prior to a consultation. Was VERY impressed with that. Scheduled a consultation (was able to get in the next week) and paid $105, which was later applied into my overall surgery cost. Consult: Was mailed forms to fill out prior to the consult, so paperwork when I arrived was minimal. The surgery was purely cosmetic, so unsure how billing insurance would change the process. Was offered water and coffee, and only had a short wait. Met the nurse Jenny, who works with Dr. Kutz, and she was incredibly sweet. I gave her some information and then met Dr. Kutz. He was absolutely excellent from the start. Was clear about what he could/couldn't achieve for results with surgery. My goal was a natural looking, but smaller, end result. That seems to be his specialty, so it was a perfect fit. He took pictures for my "Before" and we sat down with them as he explained what he could change. (He explained editing pictures can give a sense of what the nose will look like, but photo editing software doesn't take into account how the nose is structured, therefore, not everything that can be edited can actually be done.) He answered all of my questions while being personable, funny, professional and incredibly knowledgable. Walked out of the room ready to book. Sat in the waiting room for a few minutes until we met with Bonnie (again, excellent, as all the staff are) to receive the quote. Starting tearing up right in her office that I would finally be getting a rhinoplasty! Updated on 22 Aug 2016: Updated on 22 Aug 2016: 5 hours post-op Updated on 22 Aug 2016: Felt okay! Pain was not nearly as bad as expected. Not bruising yet, and was feeling very lucky I felt as good as I did! Tired, no appetite, but assuming that was from the meds. Took Tylenol every 8 hours, and was taking 5 mg Oxycodone as needed- normally 1 every 6 hours or so. Max was 2 every 4. Updated on 22 Aug 2016: Slight bruising, cheeks red from icing so much. Day 3 I felt the worst, but really still wasn't that bad. Still taking Tylenol and took one Oxy every 4 hours or so. Had trouble sleeping (nurse said it could be from the meds). Forgot to mention I did not need to use even one drip pad. The nurse took it off at the surgery center because I didn't like the feel, and I never needed one after! Not hungry at all, and tired, but still was surprised overall how good I felt! Nose was very sensitive and ice really helped. Updated on 22 Aug 2016: Day the splint came off and stitches out! I felt a bit sick to my stomach while they were coming out, but nerves + having scissors in my nostrils was probably why that happened. Very swollen. Dr. Kutz said more swollen than most. Small whiteheads all over my nose, which he said to expect as a result of it being in the splint. Was so excited already! Cried in the chair and hugged Dr. Kutz. Going back in November for pictures and follow-up. Updated on 22 Aug 2016: Feeling great!! Happy with the results already and friends and family are shocked surgery was 10 days ago! Felt ready to go back to work after a week, but gave myself two extra days. The straight on picture I used make up to contour, but looks so fantastic even without. Especially happy about the width of the tip when smiling. If you look carefully at the side-to picture, you can see a faint red line, which is were my nostril was cut. Have been putting lots and lots of antibiotic ointment on and in my nostrils. No issues breathing, no funny smelled (which Dr. Kits said may happen), still some tenderness but getting better by the day. Haven't taken any meds since day 7 post op. Excited to see what it looks like in a few weeks! Side by side comparison of before and after while smiling. Updated on 2 Sep 2016:
Hi and thanks for your question and sharing pictures. Like others have said it is way to early to judge the result. Looking at the picture I don't see obvious signs of bottoming out - a true lateral would help but your nipple position seems good from the 2 pictures provided. What you may have noticed is the implants settling into their pockets, but from your pictures they look to me to be in a good position currently. You won't like the answer on how to correct bottoming out if it does happen - smaller implants and soft tissue support of one form or another would be needed. Heavier implants have more complications - especially bottoming out - so going bigger is not the answer. Shaped implants can bottom out just like round implants can so that is not a fix. My suggestion is to just wait it out - by 3 months the capsules will really be there to support the implants and I wouldn't judge the result before 6-9 months. When an implant really starts to bottom out it is obvious to all and my suggestion is patience (until at least 9-12 months), and let your surgeon know of your concerns.
Hi and thanks for your question. Unfortunately there is no medical imaging software that does this well. The only reliable change in the nose that can be mimicked fairly close to what you can expect is a lateral view of dorsal nasal hump reduction (and possibly dangling columella correction) - and this is easily done on paper with a black pen. Otherwise the software in my experience is only good to demonstrate very gross changes to nasal shape and how this may affect the overall appearance of the nose relative to the face to help you and your surgeon understand what changes you desire -- in that respect it can be helpful. Once you decide on a change you desire and set up a list of expectations you and your surgeon agree on then the software is not very good at showing a "fine tuned" result, so is not helpful in my experience. Just understand that the rhinoplasty is based on anatomy the software can't necessarily see, and it is using photographic manipulations of a picture, so can at times generate anything you desire, but surgically those results may not be possible. Good as an early guide only.
Hi amborcky85 and thanks for the question. I hope you are healing and feeling well. There is no advantage of performing fills once versus twice weekly other than you can get filled faster to your "final volume" twice weekly. It also means more frequent trips for you to your plastic surgeon as a trade off. If you need radiation therapy after mastectomy occasionally it is necessary to fill twice weekly to get to your desired size so as not to delay radiation (which usually starts 4-6 weeks after mastectomy). Otherwise I find once weekly fills work well and give the tissues some time to relax and adapt to the fills, while being a bit more comfortable for patients in terms of how much "pressure" they feel from the expanders. I have patients who live farther away and if they don't need radiation some will only come in every 2-3 weeks for a fill. I don't notice a difference in terms of final outcome on shape. I hope that helps.
Thanks for your question. If the septoplasty procedures were performed from inside the nose then I would not personally consider this a secondary rhinoplasty. Some septoplasty procedures are performed from a "top down" or open approach which is the same approach to rhinoplasty (you'd have a scar across your columella) and then there could be scar tissue making a rhinoplasty seem more like a secondary procedure. As mentioned above if cartilage is needed this may no longer be present and may need to be harvested from your ear.
Thanks for your question. If the sensation was normal and all of a sudden is changing this could be due to multiple factors, certainly one is the implants. If you are developing capsular contracture around the implants (scar tissue tightening) this may be also pulling on the soft tissues affecting nerve transmission for example. Because of this I would go and have the implants evaluated by the surgeon who placed them or another board certified plastic surgeon.
