His educational journey began at Tampa Jesuit High School and continued with an Ivy League undergraduate education at the University of Pennsylvania, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree with a major in Biology. He subsequently obtained his doctorate degree from the University Of Miami, Miller School of Medicine, and completed eight years of post-graduate surgery specialty training, including two residencies and an elective fellowship. His training culminated in a prestigious Plastic Surgery residency at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
Dr. Polo's contributions to the field extend beyond his clinical practice, with numerous national presentations and publications in peer-reviewed journals. His dedication to research was recognized by the American Burn Association, which awarded him the Carl A. Moyer Award for outstanding research.
