Post-Pregnancy Procedures
Becoming a mother is wonderful, but bearing and nursing children can cause significant changes to your breasts and abdominal area that no amount of diet and exercise can fully reverse. That’s why we offer mommy makeovers at my Chicago practice. This combination of breast and body contouring procedures can restore your body to its pre-motherhood shape—or even improve it.
Mommy makeovers are highly personal. In our consultation, I will help you determine the best procedures for your body goals. In my experience, moms often benefit from a combination of breast augmentation, breast lift, or breast reduction, as well as liposuction, abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), and labiaplasty. Depending on your preferences and schedule, I can perform multiple procedures in one session, or pace them out as it suits you.
Breast Surgery
One of my primary areas of expertise is breast surgery, including breast augmentation, breast lifts (mastopexy), breast reduction, and breast implant removal or exchange, as well as breast reconstruction.
Breast augmentation is a popular choice for women looking to enhance their bust and their confidence. At my Chicago practice, we use silicone or saline breast implants from all of the major implant manufacturers with approval in the U.S., to fully customize your procedure and help you achieve your ideal results.
Fat transfer breast augmentation is becoming an increasingly popular alternative to breast implants. This procedure starts with harvesting your own fat with liposuction from “problem areas.” We then process and purify the fat before placing it into the breasts, increasing their volume and improving their shape. This is a great option for women who don’t want to introduce foreign objects into their body. Fat-grafted breasts also feel incredibly natural.

A Michigan native, Dr. Krochmal received his medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor. He went on to complete a General Surgery residency at the Mayo Clinic in Arizona and a Plastic Surgery residency at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, before training at the prestigious Hunstad Kortesis Center in Charlotte, where he learned advanced body contouring, breast, and facial aesthetic procedures.
Today, Dr. Krochmal continues to be an active researcher in the field of plastic surgery, and is engaged in projects involving DVT (deep vein thrombosis) blood clot reduction following abdominoplasty, safety in buttocks fat grafting procedures, and outcomes for large volume liposuction for lipedema.
A passionate advocate for patient safety and healthcare access, he sits on the Legislative Advocacy Committee for the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) as well as the Patient Safety Committees for ASPS and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS). Dr. Krochmal is also an active Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS).
