I had a mastopexy with implants (240cc saline) on 2/2/12. I am very concerned at the shape and fact they don't match. What are the chances of them shaping up to look like they match? I wanted larger implants but was told after surgery that PS went as large as he felt was safe as to not compromise blood flow etc. Just sad at how they look at this point after spending thousands $$$$$$.
You have a very normal result for this timepoint postoperatively. Your breast will change over the next several months. Some asymmetry will always remain when the breast were shaped differently preoperatively, which I suspect yours were.
My sister is having a tummy tuck and lipo to the waist and abdomen. 1 week after that she will then have a breast lift and lipo to the back. Is this safe? Her PS explains that as she has to get a lot of lipo then it will be safer to do the 2 surgeries separate. Thank You for your answers.
Thank you for your question. I think the reason surgery is being separated is because there is a limit to how much liposuction can be performed in the state of Florida when it is combined with other surgeries.
I usually separate cosmetic surgical sessions by a minimum of six weeks, sometimes 3 months. I have no data that suggests waiting a week is unsafe. It is just nice to give people some time to recover and wait for the bruising and swelling to go down. That way, if any refinement needs to be done on the first surgery, it can be easily done at the second surgery.
It is a judgment call on the part of her surgeon. I hope this helps.
Hello, I am 25 years old, 5'2" and weight 112 pounds. I've lost around 70 pounds over the past 10 years and my boobs have noticeable gotten saggy and I have lost breast mass as I lost weight. I have gone from a 36C to a 32C/34B. I would like to get full C Cup perky breasts. In my case, is a breast lift and implants recommended? I know I'm pretty young and have not had kids yet. Does the current state of my breasts indicate how my breasts will change as I age?
Congratulations on your weight loss. Looking at your pictures to determine whether or not you need a lift is not as good as seeing you in person to evaluate your tissue, but from the pictures you present, I believe that you could either just have an augmentation or do an augmentation and a lift. It really depends on what you want your breast to look like. You can achieve the volume with an implant alone, but your breast may sit a little lower than if you have a lift with an implant. You should consult with several board-certified plastic surgeons to get their opinions.
