I use to be 250lbs lost a total of 100lbs in past 10yrs by exercising & dieting. I didn’t like to wear short sleeves dress because of my loose skin. The doctor remove 1 lbs from each arm and I still have wobbly arms. I cry every morning and night when I see myself in the mirrors & this nasty scar – I think I would of saved my money and stay the same since not much different after the surgery, what can be done? Can the doctor fix this? I was expecting a thin scar. Please help!
The scars resulting from a brachioplasty or arm lift tend to be visible and noticeable, especially in massive weight loss patients. I do several things to minimize these scars but still attempt to warn my patients of the possibility of a noticeable scar.
What exactly can one do on second day of OP with arm lift,eg cooking, cutting of vegetables etc? or may I not use the arms for a period of time? and how do I care for the woun ds? tomorrow is my op on arm also laser on face, neck, chest and hands.
Arm motion should be minimal for the first several days after your brachioplasty or arm lift and you definitely should avoid any significant lifting. The more things that you do to minimize swelling, the better result you will see. I have my patients keep their arms wrapped carefully with Ace Wraps for 3-4 weeks to discourage this swelling.
I am 30 yrs old,124 pds/size 2-4 but my arms seem super flabby and out of proportion with my body. I was obese when I was a child and ever since it seems I have carried excess weight on my arms. I was a size 6-8 until a few months ago and thought that was the problem but now I am starting to believe it is excess skin. I am making an appointment for an augmentation after I have a baby (I am not yet pregnant) and wanted to fix this problem as well but was curious which procedure is needed? Thanks!
It appears that you have a good bit of excess skin in you arms which is probably due to your previous weight excess. The skin in this area does not typically possess good elasticity and I fear that liposuction without any skin excision will worsen your deformity. You will obtain your best result with a combination procedure.
