I had 240cc placed under the muscle 18 days ago. I was 105lbs 5'4 and 32a. I woke up feeling disappointed when he told me this is the size he could fit. He said next size up (silicone) was 320 was in my armpit. I was going for a full c. Do you think I will get that? How soon can I have them done again? Should I wait for the drop and fluff process? And is 320... Is that the next size to? I feel like there is a gap, like there should have been a 280? Brand is natrelle.

Answer: I got 240cc and wondering about drop/fluffing and sizing. Any suggestions? Thank you for your question and photographs and I am sorry that your results have not yet been what you anticipated. Natrelles do come in a range of sizes between 240 and 320cc but without measurement of key breast parameters, and evaluation of your skin quality, it is difficult to determine what limitations may have existed to have 240 be the best size. Though you are still early in your recovery, it is unlikely that 240cc will get you to a full C, but it may leave you with an overall very nice result. Voice your concerns to your surgeon and discuss your original plans. They should be able to give you a better idea as to the limitations encountered with surgery two make the 240cc right for you.

Answer: Patience... Congratulations on having undergone the breast augmentation procedure. You should be aware that a significant percentage of patients at your stage of recovery will feel that they are too big or (more commonly) too small.I routinely ask my patients to wait at least 3-6 months before evaluating the end results of the breast augmentation surgery. This waiting time allows patients to (usually) physically and psychologically adapt to the new body image. There are both physiological and “psychological” reasons to wait on having revisionary surgery. From the physiological standpoint, it takes many months ( and even up to one year) to see the final results of surgery. factors such as swelling, tissue contraction, skin redraping, implant shifting etc. come into play. From the psychological standpoint, patients undergo an “adaptation period" during which time they get used to the changes that the surgical procedure has brought about. Severe emotional swings can also occur after any type of surgical procedure. In my opinion, the "drop and fluff” phenomenon does hold some validity; as breast implants “settle”, many patients feel that their breasts actually look larger. Although online consultants cannot predict whether or not you will be pleased with the long-term outlook, of the procedure performed, it is safe to predict that the breasts will change. In your case, I would suggest continued patience. Continue to follow-up with your plastic surgeon. Best wishes.
