Just had 295cc overs - do you know what cup size I will be?

I agree with my colleagues that bra sizes vary substantially between various manufacturers, and one makers' "C cup" may be another's "D cup", etc.  Don't get caught up in the "letter designations" for bra size.  A 295 cc implant is still a relatively conservative "size" implant given the spectrum or range of available sizes. Every one has swelling after the procedure which can "overestimate" the size of the result to variable degrees early on.  Someone once studies cup size and found it equated to about 200 cc per cup size. So you should experience a 1 1/2 to 2 cup size increase from where you started.  It sounds like you have a great chance of being where you want to be from your description.  Also remember high profile implants have more "projection" (which is the dimension "outward" or forward from the side of the body).  It can take breast implants 8-12 weeks sometimes to fully settle into position.  These dynamics also affect the "fitting" of various sports bras and brassieres.  After they have totally settled is the best time to go bra and swim suit shopping. Thank you for your question.  Quite honestly it is far too soon in the healing process to determine what you breast cup size will be.  If "just had" means that you are but days out from your surgery, you need to wait at least three months before determining what your cup size is (which could vary depending on the bra).  Between now and then, your breasts should undergo changes such as softening, dropping into place, and reducing in swelling.  During this time, please be patient and continue to closely follow the instructions of your surgeon as you move forward in the healing process.All the best, Dr. ResultsMiami, FL

It's a great question, but it's really hard to predict your final cup size. A rough estimate would be that every 150-200cc of implant volume would increase your bra size by about 1 cup. During your consultation you'll be able to try on implants in a bra. It's important to remember that cup sizes vary significantly between different bra manufacturers, so focus on reaching your goal look and then you'll find out your cup size during a bra fitting. When considering breast augmentation make sure you find a board certified plastic surgeon who will take the time to answer all of your questions and explain all of your options, so that you can decide if breast augmentation is right for you.

Thanks for your question.  In my practice I never guarantee a breast cup size.  One reason is that a Victoria Secret C is not the same as a Target C.  However, given the information above, a full C is a good guess as to where you will end up.  Only time will tell.  Best of luck to you 

There is really no way to accurately depict cup size. Particularly since they vary so much between bra manufacturers. Assuming that you had good communication with your surgeon, you should reach your final desired look, but it may take 3-6 months. Best, Dr. Nazarian

Hello, cup sizes vary between bra manufacturers...no one will be able to give you a universally correct answer as the answer will change depending on what bras you wear. It typically takes a few weeks for swelling to decrease and implants to settle. After that time, you will be able to be sized. Good Luck. 

The answer is I guess you'll find out when you try on bra's. There are however good sizing systems that are available for preoperative assessment of breast volume.

Thanks for your question and congratulations on your surgery. There is a ball park estimate of 200CC per cup size. By that criterion you should be around a C cup. Some bra types might even be a D particularly with a HP implant. Final size is of course dependent on original amount of breast tissue, laxity of breast envelope and the implant chosen. Usually at 3 months things have settled down and will not change dramatically. Best of Luck!

Thank you for your question.  Because of the differences in bra manufacturers it is difficult to give you a definite answer, but you will likely be in a C-cup range.  

It is very difficult to determine the exact size and shape implant you will require to best match your ideal breast image without an examination by a board certified plastic surgeon. Not just any board certified plastic surgeon, but one with many years of frequently performing breast augmentation surgery including different approaches, techniques and implant choices. This is because several measurements not to mention your breast characteristics are needed to determine the optimal implant size to obtain your goals. Without knowing these dimensions it would be difficult to make this determination. For example, the existing base width of your breast will determine, in many cases, the maximal volume per implant profile that you can accommodate. To illustrate; a 100 cc difference may make a significant difference with a narrow base width breast, but much less of a difference if you have a wide chest wall and wide breast “foot print”. Therefore, just because your friend may have a great result with let’s say a 350 cc implant to make her go from a “A” cup to a “C” cup size does not mean that you will have the same result with the same size implant. . Further simply placing implants in a bra to determine the size best for you is not always accurate as the bra often distorts the size, is dependent on the pressure the bra places plus the implant is outside your breast and not under it among other variables. Computer software morphing programs that automatically determine the best implant size can be helpful in some but not all cases (e.g. doesn’t work well in my experience with existing implants, sagging or asymmetric breasts).
