Slowly as I age I am developing under eye wrinkles and a roll when I smile. I feel like it is making me look older. What is the best way to help fix this?
Answer: It is important it keep things perspective in our photoshopped world. Your eyes are still amazing even if there are little lines. Sometimes surgery is not kind to what is wonderful and natural about the eyes. I think you should spend money on a good eye cream (do not spend more than $60 because the most expensive products are not better than the less expensive product even if the jars are nicer). The eye cream hydrates the skin under the eyes and softens these lines. So that is a front line product. I think you would do very well with under eye filler in the form of Restylane. I do not like the so-called "smooth" fillers for this-they tend to be runny. Less is more. Ideally, find the most experienced injector you can for this treatment. Save the harsh treatments for 10 years from now.

Answer: Lower eyelids The problem appears to be excess skin on your lower eyelids. This can be improved by removing it through an incision just below the lash line (transcutaneous blepharoplasty) or tightening the loose skin with laser resurfacing (laser blepharoplasty). Obtain a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon for an evaluation and to discuss options in further detail.

Answer: Pinch blepharoplasty A pinch blepharoplasty will remove some skin along your eyelash border without risking lid lag. This will safely correct the light excess of skin.

Answer: Jelly roll? Hi. You have a nice, youthful eyelid shape. What you are noticing is related to the activity of the orbicularis muscle. When it contracts, in addition to laugh lines, some younger people will get a little roll effect in the lower lid. Botox is an excellent treatment for both areas - and only a tiny dose is needed. For the very mild textural changes you show in the lower lid, either a chemical peel or light laser resurfacing can be performed.

Answer: Muscular hypertrophy under the eye It seems like from your description you may be describing some excess muscular tissue under your eyelid. It often can be easily treated with small amounts of botox in that area.

Answer: Under eye roll can be improved with a very small injection of Botox There are many causes of "bags" under the eyes, but the easiest to improve is the "jelly roll" or "sausage" that appears when you squint. The squinting motion contracts the muscle around the eye called the orbicularis muscle, which in some people can be quite large. A small amount (like 1 unit) of Botox will relax the muscle and improve the roll. If you are older with lower lid laxity, this procedure may not be the right treatment for you. Make sure you see a physician who has experience with these types of injections.
