Brian M. Harmych, MD, FACS

Before ending up at Dr. Harmych's practice, I underwent a functional septoplasty to fix my deviated septum (I couldn't breathe out of one nostril) at Metro Health, performed by an ENT surgeon. Even though my nose was functionally problematic, aesthetically, I was fine with it and was reassured by the ENT surgeon that the appearance wouldn't change. With insurance covering it, I went with him instead of paying out of pocket for plastic surgery. The ENT performed the surgery, and right away, you could tell it looked COMPLETELY different. Of course, there's swelling, so I was hopeful that I just had to wait it out and it would go back to looking like my normal nose. Fast forward a year, and it still looked the same, like I got kicked in the face. It was more bulbous and looked more deviated, though somehow, he did improve my breathing. However, I would've taken my original nose and not been able to breathe out of one nostril since it at least looked good.

That's when the lifelong lesson hit me: you get what you pay for. So, I decided not to be cheap and researched plastic surgeons. I found Dr. Harmych. I chose him because he was double board-certified in only the face, and his before-and-afters were incredible. I had several appointments with him. Each time, he answered all my questions, listened to my concerns, and seemed very genuine. His staff was also very accommodating and pleasant.

After my surgery with Dr. Harmych, you could already tell, even with the swelling, that he fixed the other surgeon's mistake and made it better than my original nose to begin with! I'm a month post-op and couldn't be happier with the results (even though there's still some swelling remaining). I'm scheduled next month to go in for steroid shots that will help with healing and alleviate scar tissue. That's another thing: he provides great post-op care with the medicines he prescribes and some herbal supplements to help with healing and reduce swelling, which the other surgeon at a major hospital did not provide.

I totally recommend Dr. Harmych, and if there's one thing you take from this review, it's don't cheap out on surgery, especially when it involves your face :)

Dr Harmych did 2 surgeries for me. I met with a few other doctors before meeting with him and ultimately chose to go with him for my surgeries due to his knowledge, confidence and kindness. I am now 6 months post op from a rhinoplasty and 3 weeks post op from a deep plane face lift, brow lift and lip lift. I couldn't be more happy with the results so far from both surgeries. I am 6 months post op from my first surgery where I wanted to decrease the overall size of my nose with focusing mostly on the top bridge as it was very wide. I now have a more narrow nose with more definition. Overall I am very pleased with it and still have some healing to do. At the consultation he was very detailed about the surgery and potential results and made me feel extremely comfortable. The results were exactly as he explained and looks just like the computer generated example he showed me at the consultation. I am glad I chose him to do that surgery. I am now 3 weeks post op from a second surgery I did with Dr. Harmych. He did a deep plane face lift with a brow lift and a lip lift. He again explained in detail what would happen and made me feel very comfortable with doing this particular surgery. This surgery went just as smooth as the first one with him did. The recovery was very easy with minimal pain with both surgeries. Every question was answered with so much care and knowledge before and after surgery. Any surgery to the face is not only scary but very risky but Dr. Harmych eased my fears and did exactly what he said he was going to do. I now feel more confident with my new nose and look 20yrs younger with my new overall look. Dr Harmych's staff is very friendly and make you feel more like a friend then a patient. I love how small his office is as it makes you feel more welcomed and cared for. I live 2.5hrs away from his office but with the kind of care and professionalism I have received from him and his staff it has made every trip well worth it. I am grateful to have found such a great doctor for such important changes I have made to my appearance. I highly recommend Dr. Harmych to anyone seeking to make not only a subtle change but an even more extreme change to their overall appearance such as I did. Just for reference I am 47yrs old but now look 27yrs old thanks to Dr. Harmych.

Dr Harmych is a one of a kind plastic surgeon. Aside from his excellent demeanor, his skill and artistry is nothing short of amazing. He performed my rhinoplasty 2 years ago, and almost 2 weeks ago performed a deep plane face and neck lift, temporal brow lift, lower and upper bleph. Dr. Harmych was very thorough in explanation, and ensured all questions were answered.
Do your homework, read reviews and definitely take time to have a consult. The office staff is warm and welcoming and makes everyone feel special. I am already so thrilled with the results of my surgery and can’t wait to see the final results. I wouldn’t have trusted anyone else with all these procedures, and can’t recommend him enough!

Hello Real Self crowd, I’m a 56-year-old Male that was looking for a total refreshing of the face after doing about 1 year of research. I ended up having a Deep Plane Facelift that included, Neck Lift, Temporal Brow lift, Mid FaceLift and upper and lower eye Blepharoplasty. I was very anxious about not looking like the same person afterward. I met with 3 doctors from my hometown of Louisville but none of them ONLY worked on the face AND had the board certifications. I had decided this was important. I expanded my search and found Dr. Harmych via (this website and why I'm posting here also), about 5 hours away just outside of Cleveland OH. I started off with a virtual consult and drove to Cleveland a few weeks later for an in-person consultation. I was very comfortable with Doc Harmych and paid for the procedure that day.

I had the procedure about 1 month later and the result is amazingly natural. I’m getting many compliments such as, “have you lost weight?” I ran into someone I had not seen in 5 years, and he said, “you are supposed to look older as you age, not younger”. He truly did not know I had a facelift. Without question, I got a great result and a huge improvement. Without going into every improvement, the Deep Plane Facelift is what I needed. I wish I had done it at about 50 frankly but happy that I found Dr Harmych when I did. I don’t leave reviews in general but felt compelled to write one for this. It is kind of a big deal! While waiting in the surgery center the morning of, one of the nurses told me she was having her eyes done by him next week. In the end, I made the right decision. Thank goodness.. The cost was also very reasonable based on my research.

I have been going to many consultations in the Cleveland area for years and none of them stood out to me like Dr. Harmych has. Immediately upon my consultation I felt so welcomed and the staff seemed genuinely happy to work there and they are so kind and helpful. When it came down to scheduling a surgery date, I was a nervous wreck, but Dr. Harmych, Kim, and Carol reassured me that I was in great hands. They really treat you like family here.

On the day of my surgery I got to meet Betty and her demeanor and the way she truly cares for her patients is so refreshing. I felt like I’ve known her all my life! Trina was my nurse and went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and taken care of, love her!!

And now to the result- I am only 3 days post op and pretty swollen, but I can already tell my nose will be exactly what Ive always dreamed of it to be. Dr. Harmych is truly a master at his craft and you truly can’t go wrong coming here. I highly suggest anyone looking to get a rhinoplasty to start here!!

There were only positives in my experience with doc, B.J, Carol, and Betty!

I went in for revision rhinoplasty. I had my first rhinoplasty in Colombia (think big Italian nose :)), and although my profile was much improved, I was not completely happy with how it looked from the front. Dr H had the utmost integrity by not talking bad about the surgeon or results and instead opining on what could be improved and what potential difficulties could be. I felt completely comfortable with him and team from the beginning; they are down to earth, helpful, and genuinely care about the patient and their results! The quote was completely reasonable (I actually thought it would be more). I met nurse Betty, who would later be in OR with doc, at an appointment a couple of weeks before surgery, and her kind eyes immediately put me at ease! Again, I felt actually cared for. I enjoyed my presurgery chats with the docs and nurses at the surgery center as well! I had almost NO BRUISING, and I could immediately (few hours post surgery when the anesthesia fog wore off) tell my nose was smaller. I had doc's number for any questions/concerns post surgery. They also send flowers to their recovering patients, which is just so thoughtful! One week later I got my cast off, and the results were better than I was imagining! It was like magic; I still looked like myself but with the things I was unhappy about fixed! I look forward to everyday seeing the swelling go down and showing off my new body part!

The office staff is helpful and approachable. I felt very comfortable when I met the staff. Dr. Harmych spent time with me discussing what I wanted and answered all my questions.

I had minimal bruising, no pain and a great recovery! If you’re looking for a wonderful facial plastic surgeon- look no further. He’s the best!

Dr. Harmych takes time to listen to what you want, makes recommendations based on his professional experience, thinks about what is right for you and what you're looking to achieve and is realistic in setting expectations. I've really enjoyed and appreciated Dr. Harmychs approach and his caring staff that was there with me for every step. I can finally breath through my nose again, and WOW- it’s amazing to say that.
