Can Ultherapy help with volume loss?

Generally dermal fillers and facial fat grafting are the
best treatment options for loss of volume. Ultherapy can lift and tone sagging
skin. An applicator delivers tiny
deposits of focused ultrasound energy to a certain depth below your skin. This process stimulates collagen growth over a
period of several weeks. A board

Hello, and thank you for this question. As a general rule, we do not use this technique for volume loss. You may get some minimal improvement however we most commonly will utilize this with injectable fillers and/or autologous fat grafting. I would recommend you seek out a qualified board certified plastic surgeon in your area to discuss all of your options in detail. Best of luck.

Ultherapy will lift, tone and tighten loose skin. It will not replace lost volume. Volume loss can be treated with fillers or fat grafting. These treatments work well in combination with Ultherapy. Make sure you find an experienced provider who can address all of your concerns. Best of luck.

Ultherpy is good for tightening and can firm the skin where there is volume loss but cannot replenish what has been lost. You may want to consider fillers for addressing the loss of volume, but please make sure you seek the guidance of an expereinced injector.

 Ultherapy stimulates the production of collagen, which will give you more volume over time as the collagen produces. It can take between three to six months to start seeing results. Depending on the severity of the volume loss, or if you want a more immediate result will determine if you would still need fillers after Ultherapy.

Thanks for your question. In short ultherapy is fantastic for creating the appropriate deep and superficial tissue framework needed to support volume, however it is not really creating any volume. Occasionally it may appear that way due to the lifting and tightening of the tissues, but it doesn't add volume. In fact in many areas in can reduce volume especially in fatty areas under the chin. In my opinion Ulthera is best performed as an initial preparatory procedure to be followed by a volumizing treatment (only HA or fat in my practice). The results from this seem to be synergistic. Often there is less volume required and it seems to last a bit longer than average. Hope this helps.

The Ulthera® laser, or Ultherapy® is an ultrasound-based laser that is considered the current gold standard for lifting loose skin/ subcutaneous tissue/fat/muscle of the lower face and neck. It accomplishes this by tightening exiting collagen and muscle fibers. It is not used for filling volume loss.

Ultherapy is very good at nonsurgically reorganizing your collagen and making your skin look tighter.  Ultherapy in the face can help improve the look of the jawline (and early jowling) by tightening and lifting the weight of the lower face soft tissue that is "collapsing" onto the jawline.  Ulthera does not do anything for volume replacement. Volume is addressed with the facial fillers like Juvederm, Voluma, Restylane, Radiesse, Perlane or Belotero, or with surgical Fat Transfer.  With certain types of bone structure, early sagging and volume loss, some patients who undergo volumization can also get a significant side-benefit of nonsurgical "lift," as these heavy upper face soft tissues get hoisted back up and no longer sag onto the lower face and jawline anymore. Ultherapy and Volumization together is a great and very powerful combination that we use very often in our practice to achieve natural looking "nonsurgical facelift" results for the right candidate.  It is also ideal to be evaluated by a provider who is knowledgeable of the skeletal/surgical anatomy of the face for this deeper level volumization and nonsurgical "lifting". Hope you find this helpful.  Best wishes!
