I am 25, this is something that has ruined my life. I have never worn a bikini nor ever gotten completely undressed in front of a partner, including my partner that I have been with for 5 years now. I am extremely nervous about getting someone to fix this for me and am looking for a specialist in tubular breast correction. I am in the south of the U.K, near to Southampton.

But it can be challenging determining who is the right surgeon for you.A good place to start your search is on the BAAPS website, and use that as a platform from which to research the individual surgeons. Far more important than the technique is the skill and experience of your plastic surgeon. Choose your surgeon rather than the technique and let them explain why one technique may be better than another.  See the below link on some suggestions on finding the most qualified Plastic Surgeon for a Breast Augmentation.  Always insist on a board certified plastic surgeon.

There are technical considerations when considering the best options and these will be best covered in consultation following a full assessment. Hi!  Tuberous breasts are a relatively common problem that can be very upsetting for women dealing with this problem. It is a complicated surgery that requires someone with specific expertise in this area, and may require more than one procedure to achieve the best final result.  Unfortunately, I can't help you with a referral in the UK but I would recommend google searching for tuberous breast surgeons and looking at a lot of before and after photos. I would advise you to first ensure that your surgeon is a fully specialised plastic surgeon - on the specialist register in plastic surgery with the GMC. This can be checked on line. It is also a mark of their qualifications if they are members of either BAAPS or BAPRAS and both organisations list their members.
Once you have established their qualifications, then you can look at who is based in your locality, websites, before and after pictures and reviews. However, there is no substitute for meeting the surgeon or surgeons. As well as knowing your surgeon can take on your case, it is important to be able to develop a rapport with them and fully discuss your concerns and hopes for surgery.

Thank you for your question.  There are varying degrees of tuberous breast from conical shape of the breast to puffiness or herniation of the nipple areolar complex.  Depending on the severity this will determine what is required from a surgical point of view.  Using implants alone can help in some cases but when looking to correct the areolar further incisions around this area may be required.  It is best to find a BAAPS or BAPRAS member surgeon in the UK.

When it comes to choosing your surgeon it is really important to do your research first and i have put together a list of things to consider when selecting a surgeon;Have any of your friends, family or colleagues any experience of a Plastic Surgeon? Personal recommendation is often the best way to learn about the best Surgeons in your area as they rarely advertise.Is your Surgeon listed on the General Medical Council’s list of Specialist Plastic Surgeons?  This lists Surgeons who are specifically trained in Plastic Surgery.Is your Surgeon a member of the following main professional organisations for Plastic Surgery in the UK? The British Association of Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeons which lists recognised Plastic Surgeons in the UK.The British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons which lists Surgeons in your area who specialise in Cosmetic Surgery and are submitted to yearly audit.Does your Surgeon specialise in the procedure you are considering?How many of the procedures you are considering does the Surgeon perform per year? Ask the Surgeon if they have encountered any complications following the treatment you are considering.  It is relatively common to have minor and less commonly more major problems following surgery and your Surgeon should be honest and open about this.Will you be able to see before and after photos of patients your Surgeon has treated? Ask how long after surgery the photographs were taken.I personally carry out a number of breast correction surgeries treating conditions such as tuberous and asymmetric breasts. Depending on the severity I can go through a number of different types of treatments with you and some are often part of a 2-Stage procedure which ensures your receive the best result. Of course without seeing you in person for a consultation and with no images attached to the question it is hard to advise the best course of action but feel free to check out my RealSelf profile for more information.

Great question.  
The first thing you should do is to look for a fully trained plastic surgeon and you can tell by looking for the letters FRCS(Plast) after their name. Our specialist associations BAPRAS and BAAPS have websites with a list of members and it will also show what their specialist interest is.
Tuberous breast deformity covers a spectrum of problems and ranges from the mild cases that can be treated with breast implants alone to more severe cases that may require a combination and possibly staged treatments.
