How would 1 go about searching for a surgeon who specializes in tuberous breasts correction within Toronto or the GTA ? I have tried googling it but most sites that have come up don't even have a gallery with tuberous breast . Do I just call every surgical office out there?
Answer: Tuberous breasts? Far more important than the technique is the skill and experience of your plastic surgeon. Choose your surgeon rather than the technique and let them explain why one technique may be better than another. See the below link on some suggestions on finding the most qualified Plastic Surgeon for a Breast Augmentation. Always insist on a board certified plastic surgeon.

Answer: Correcting tuberous breasts I don't think you'll find a tuberous breast specialist as it is not too common for anyone to really specialize in it. However it is common enough that you should be able to find a surgeon who can show you before and after images of tuberous breast corrections. We do have images, however we do not have a separate 'tuberous breasts' photo gallery for you to browse. Now before you start searching for a 'tuberous breasts specialist', it is important to make sure you really do have tuberous breasts. I often find patients who think they have tuberous breasts don't really have tuberosity. It is best to come in for a consultation and have a board certified plastic surgeon assess you.Take a look at the web reference page or view us on realself/instagram (add: realdrsix)

Answer: Surgeon who specializes in tuberous breasts in the GTA? You could certainly call everyone, but you could also check out people's websites to see their areas of expertise to narrow it down a bit before making all the calls. The best way to choose is to look at before and after galleries to see who has done work on similarly tuberous breasts. There are a few different manifestations of the condition and degrees of severity so exactly what needs to be done can vary a fair bit between patients. The only way to know for sure who will be the right surgeon for you is to book a few consultations with a board certified plastic surgeons near you to see who you get along best with. Best of luck!

Answer: Surgeon who specializes in tuberous breasts Thank you for the important question; careful selection of plastic surgeon will be the most important decision you make. Although I cannot provide you with specific names, I would suggest starting with the your national Society of Plastic Surgery and/or the Aesthetic Society of Plastic Surgery to obtain a list of well experienced board-certified plastic surgeons. Then, I would suggest you visit a few surgeons whose practices concentrate on aesthetic surgery. ***Ask to see lots of examples of their work and preferably speak/see patients who have had similar procedures done. Basically, patients should look at the overall "quality" of the outcomes achieved; in other words, it will be important that patients see lots of examples of outcomes that they would be pleased with. In doing so patients will be able to get an idea of each plastic surgeon's "aesthetic sensibilities". Generally speaking, some of the characteristics seen with tuberous breasts include a very narrow base, short distance from areola to inframammary fold, tight (constricted) lower pole of the breasts, relatively wide space between the breasts, "puffy” areola and some degree of ptosis (drooping). Generally, correction of tuberous breast anomalies involves breast augmentation with areola reduction / mastopexy procedure. The distance from the inframammary fold is increased (to create a more rounded out appearance). Proper implant positioning improves the distance (cleavage) between the breasts. The areola reduction helps to treat the pointed and "puffy" appearance of the areola. I hope this, and the attached link (dedicated to corrective surgery for patients with tuberous/constricted breasts) helps. Best wishes.

Answer: Tuberous breasts I would say that the majority of plastic surgeons performing breast surgery have experience with tuberous breasts. You are best to start with the ASPS or ASAPS or Canadian Plastic Surgery society website.
