Hi, I just want to verify if I have tuberous breast. If so, do I need to have breast implant and areola reduction? I'm 5'3" ad 128lbs, currently living in Seattle. Wondering if I need to get breast lift as well. Is it possible to use fat transfer to treat my case? Thank you!
Answer: Tuberous Far more important than the technique is the skill and experience of your plastic surgeon. Choose your surgeon rather than the technique and let them explain why one technique may be better than another. See the below link on some suggestions on finding the most qualified Plastic Surgeon for a Breast Augmentation. Always insist on a board certified plastic surgeon.

Answer: Tuberous Breasts Hello,Thank you for your question and photos. As others have stated, you do demonstrate features of tuberous breasts. A type of breast lift used to set back the puffiness of the areolas may be done, which will also allow for release of constricted tissue in the base of the breasts and balancing the position of areolas. Cohesive, silicone breast implants are probably the way to go, rather than fat grafting, in order to fill out and reshape the breast. I recommend that you meet with a board certified Plastic Surgeon who has plenty of experience in this area. They will examine you, discuss your goals and create a plan. All the best

Answer: Tuberous breast? Thank you for your question and photos. Yes, you do have classic tuberous breasts. These are best corrected with silicone gel implant augmentation. You will not need a lift. Fat grafting is possible, might require more than one session to achieve your desired results. Implants are more predictable in outcome, with fat grafting you can expect about one size increase in volume. See a board certified plastic surgeon for an in person consultation/evaluation. Good luck.

Answer: Tuberous breast? Based on your photos, it does appear that you have tuberous breasts. However, the path forward to deliver the results you want depends a lot on other factors, including the breast size you would like to obtain. While fat transfer is an increasingly popular option for augmenting various parts of the body, given your height and weight and the limited photos you have provided, it may not be possible to obtain the results you want through fat transfer. You should keep in mind that fat transfer to the breasts general yields only a small augmentation and often has to be repeated more than once and requires sufficient donor sites. Breast implants are going to give you the most predictable and reliable increase in volume. You do not appear to need a lift at this time but you may require some areolar work/reduction depending on your goals for the outcome. You will need to have a long conversation with your plastic surgeon regarding your goals and reasonable expectations as well as tolerance for future revision surgery. Best of luck!

Answer: Tuberous breast? Thank you for your pictures and questions. In short, yes, you do have several features of tuberous breast deformity. Depending on your goals and expectations, there are several options available to you to treat this, the most common being placement of a silicone implant and revision of the tuberous features. I would not recommend a lift as I do not think this is necessary. And I am not sure what the goal of fat transfer would be in this case as increasing any significant size would require several sessions of grafting and would not correct the deformity.Hope this helps!
