Jonathan J. Staiano, FRCS (Plast)

Mr Staiano and his team have been amazing. They have gone above and beyond in supporting me through my journey to improve my breasts following complications Id had with previous breast augmentation with a different surgeon. Due to this bad experience I was nervous about approaching other consultants just in case I got it so wrong again. However, from the minute I rang the Staiano clinic i was put at ease and didnt feel like I was just another potential client.
At my initial consultation i felt comfortable, reassured and listened too.
Mr Staiano showed empathy towards the experience id previously been through and I knew from that initial consultation that he was the surgeon for me.
Mr Staiano talked me through all my options and gave me a professional view on the size and shape of the implant that would meet my expectations. Something the previous surgeons never did!
I have seen Mr Staiano numerous times and everytime I get a friendly and personal welcoming. The aftercare that Mr Staiano provides is exceptional, he and his team are the best and I cannot thank them enough for everything they have done for me.
For anyone thinking of having breast surgery then you will not find anyone better than Mr Staiano.

I booked to see Dr Staiano at the Staiano Clinic in Birmingham, UK in early January 2021. I ended up seeing him several days later. I've had a skin coloured mole on the right side of my chin since the age of 13-15 to the present day. It was an annoyance since I occasionally cut it whilst shaving. It was roughly the size of half a pea and I had been looking at ways of having it removed for some time. My preference was for the the mole to be removed by a radio wave technique.

My main concern was for the mole to be removed perfectly with no raised or depressed area after its removal. Dr Staiano advised me that whatever technique is used they are all reliant on some form of energy, whether electrical or the pressure from a surgeons hand using a scalpel. He made it clear that, as with all procedures, in some cases corrective surgery may be required. I trusted him completely and gave him the go-ahead. 15 mins later the mole had been removed. I was advised of the required after care and followed this diligently.

I was amazed at the rate my skin recovered for a 57 year old and within 4 weeks there was hardly any sign of any surgery and after 2 months I could see no mark at all where the mole was removed. 11 months on I remain thankful that we have easy access to such talented doctors in the UK. All I can say is that end result for me was absolutely perfect. I have appended 2 photos, one showing the incision made several days after the surgery and one 6 weeks afterwards. F.

Johnathan and his team are amazing. First surgery I have ever had and I will definitely never go anywhere else. I am more then happy to take questions and big up the Staiano clinic 100% never in a million years did I think it was ok to have a breast augmentation with out feeling guilty. Well I must say Jonathan and his team are the best. Honestly I did much research to find a good surgeon and Johnathan was actually the 2nd person I had a consultation with and I knew straight away I would be choosing him to perform my breast augmentation, he is so down to earth and has a great sense of humour as well as upholding a professional attitude this made me instantly feel comfortable and confident in the care I would receive !!

I was so unsure if I would even have the procedure done but I was put instantly at ease. I was given availability, and all was explained to me, what was first fear turned in to excitement. I was treated very person centred and Johnathan was open and honest with me about everything.

Even the after care is amazing Amy and Vicki have also been incredible and they are all just at the end of the phone if I need anything.. I am 5 weeks post op and I am happy with the results I have got everything I wanted and more.

If I could give 10 starts I would.

Jonathan is in his own league altogether. His demeanour, values and professionalism are second to none. Along with a down to earth and friendly bedside manner which makes you feel like the most well looked after patient on the planet! I had the best experience possible & my results are incredible.

This Dr is amazing from start to finish and even more after. He asks all the right questions to make sure that you are happy and fully understand before you go any further. The aftercare you have afterwards is second to none and a member of the team is always on hand. Vicky is ace and makes your recovery so much more smoother.

Mr Staiano was excellent from the outset. He has a great, informal bedside manner and made me immediately relaxed. He's very professional but very down to earth too and chatted to me about holidays, poor hotel service etc etc throughout the actual procedure done under local anaesthetic so it passed quickly and painlessly. I had a torn earlobe repaired and was very pleased with the result. He uses a unique technique that retains your original ear piercing hole so you can wear a small earring after the first 4 week check up in contrast to others who stitch the whole ear and you have to wait 6 months to re-pierce. At the follow up consultation I had a small bump in the scar on the rear of my ear (my healing rather than the surgery) and he removed it at that appointment. He continues to follow up with you too which is excellent. I would highly recommend Mr Staiano in fact, he was so good, I'm thinking of going back to him for one or two other procedures .......

I've wanted this for many years and I finally plucked up the courage. I suppose it was a gift from my husband for my 34th birthday. After a terrible experience at spire parkway hospital in SOLIHULL, I came across mr Jonathan staiano. A friend recommend him! This guys bloody amazing, don't know how I missed him beforehand. Anyway, day 3, in a lot of discomfort, pain and tightening across the chest. Sides of my belly feels sore and very tender, can't think why as Jonathan was no where near there. But I popped in to see him today, and he reassured me everything is where it's supposed to be and it's perfectly Normal what I'm experiencing. Now I'm a smoker and I quit for the sake of my op, however, smoking helps me go to the toilet as I suffer with IBS. Can you imagine what im feeling right now??? I haven't been for the past 4 days and I'm so uncomfortable so bloated, the post op bra is cutting into my belly too. Feel so yucky!!! Will it be terrible if I had just the one cig???? :(((

Tightness is starting to ease up. But left boob still in a lot of pain especially crawling round the side and back of the boob. Still swollen. But I can now elevate myself out of bed without being in excruciating pain!!!

Gosh I have like a pulling sensation in my left breast towards the side... really limiting me. It's disappointing to read that by day 5, many are pain free. ????

Loving how they look now! Can't wait til this heat/prickly rash clears up. TookAntihistamine and using aloe Vera gel. Hate the compression bra. Isn't helping with rash. Still having pulling feeling on sides. Still with dressing. Seeing consultant in 3 days. I can't seem to see my previous reviews. But my consultant Jonathan Staiano is absolutely fantastic, professional and down to earth! So glad I was pointed in the right direction after my awful experience at the Spire Parkway SOLIHULL and Ms Dancey! Don't go there!! I am trying to keep up with my reviews but like I said, keeps disappearing after a while.

So I've had my consultant change my compression bra and boy it feels so much better!! I can breathe! It's not cutting into me, and the strain on side of breasts is easing up!! I can't believe I was in the wrong size bra for almost a week! Would it have done any damage to my implants or stitches??

I have been back to see my consultant which I can comfortably refer to him as Jonathan- his first name. He's just been ever supportive Yet professional and is definitely someone I could trust. I know I'm in safe hands. He removed the dressings and stitches are healing nicely! Everything is still where it should be and I am healing nicely too. Although still swollen, that's normal too. I can breathe I can relax! My first milestone,,, everything's going to be ok!!. I'm going to sit back and let my breasts do what they gotta do. I'm still going to remain vigilant but not as bad as noW. But they are still swollen and painful at times. Thanks Jonathan Staiano! You are the best!

Im getting there but left breast is still swollen and down the centre of breasts too. I am moving and have started to do some housework but my body is still telling me inbred plenty of rest, so will take it easy. Just wondering when I can sleep flat because I am still sleeping in an upright position. And when I have tried to lie down it doesn't feel comfortable at all... is that normal? And it would be lovely to hear from others and get some feedback... no one has said a word which makes me think I'm only typing for myself and it's a pointless exercise :((

So the pain down the centre of my breasts is definitely easing up. Still have the heavy feeling and some pulling pain round the sides of the stitches. Not going to lie I have started smoking again but not as many as I did pre-op... but now I can't help but feel my breasts are small :(( I know I should patient and wait for them to fluff out but I can't help but think after everything I went through, I should have gone a tad bigger. I was just so terrified beforehand and didn't want to look ginormous for my petite frame... I I'll upload pics shortly. And thank you to everyone who have been commented. Honestly made me feel so much better x

hi i know its been a while. the weathers been beautiful so I'm making the most of it! which is a good sign that i am getting better. i am now driving again.. manoeuvring at times can be slow, but its ok. I'm cooking, and doing house work but my house keeper is still of great help with the ironing! i can feel like my pecks are getting stronger because i am able to open the oven door which was a struggle and carry heavier things, pick up my boy (not for too long). but i still can't get over the discomfort and pain when I'm reclining or lying down and especially when i wake up in the morning, it feels like someones been sitting on me all night! my left breast is taking longer to heal, not as strong as my right. i can feel all my nerve endings, and the implant, and its still swollen..the nipple is so sensitive, and all my veins have come to the surface, just sticking out! I'm just hoping it'll settle soon, but i definitely feel myself getting there day by day. i have a question: has anyone found that by taking ibuprofen/paracetamol regularly, they have gained weight?? I don't know because i have never relied on pain killers even when its time of the month.. but i have put on a couple of kilos, and I'm wondering if its a side effect from taking the pills??
i will post pics the next time I'm out the shower xx

Hey everyone. Apologies on my disappearing act, I've just been caught up with the kids. In a way that's a good thing, because I've not given my new breasts much thought and allowed them to get on with it and heal. And they have nicely. The swelling in my left breast has dropped massively! And a lot of the strains and pains have settled. I am able to sleep on my sides and flat and at times if etch myself rolling onto my stomach and I wake myself up and readjust! (I use to love sleeping in the position). My incisions are healing nicely. My PS said I can arise applying cream when I hit the 4 week mark and I have. I opted for Sudocrem. I try to apply it twice a day but at times I forget..like I said not giving them much thought. I'm still wearing my compression bras. I'm able to pick up my 3 year old when need be, fool around with him and starting dancing again with my 10 year old around the kitchen!! So yes overall things are going nicely../just my left breast needs to catch up with right one..

I had 280cc Nagor implants 13 years ago when I was 19. Since then I have had 2 children and managed to breastfeed them for a year each.
They looked really natural but did seem to drop somewhat after kids. The fullness at the top just wasn't there any more. I started running in 2012 and wore a normal sports bra, when I started HIIT training in 2014 I jut wore a light sports bra of tops with built in support - these were clearly not supportive enough as I noticed bottoming out of my right implant in November 2015.
The surgeon who performed my first operation has since retired so I went to see Mr Staiano at a friends recommendation. I knew straight away he was the right surgeon.
I knew I wanted to go slightly bigger as I have a bit more skin now than I had at 19! Mr Staiano measured my chest wall and recommended up to 390cc HP Nagor implants or 360 HP polyurethane. They both have the same stats. I decided to go with the polyurethane. Surgery was booked for 20th October at the Spire Parkway Hospital.

Day of surgery - I was really relieved not to suffer any sickness following the anesthesia and pain wasn't too bad. Mr Staiano came to see me in recovery (although I have no memory of this as I was out of it) and again when I was back in my room. I had a sneak peek at my boobs and noticed my nipples were pointing outwards. I'm putting this down to swelling for now! I know that it's going to take some time for the swelling to go down and fit them to settle, especially as they are polyurethane.
Day 2 - went home and tried to stay on top of pain relief. Feeling uncomfortable more than anything, and my chest is tight.
Day 3 - chest is very tight today, feels like I can't take in a full breath, I think it's just pressure though. Had a little pain this morning but I'm taking cocodamol and ibuprofen and keeping on top of the doses! Sat outside whilst the kids played as I was getting cabin fever stuck indoors!

I'm so bored!!! Slept better last night and have had a 2 hour nap today but this healing period feels really slow! This feels worse than last time but I think that's because I have a lot of internal stitching. That being said I'm not doing too badly.
Have managed to wash my hair today and I'm not needing as many pain meds. I'm walking a little hunched over so I hope to address my posture over the next couple of days.
Still really bloated, trying to eat light meals and drink plenty of water.
Had a wobble yesterday and questioned why I had done this but feeling better today.
Think I need to try and get out tomorrow!

Urgh! I am still so bloated! Feel about 6 months pregnant. Trying to stay off the cocodamol today so tonight I have resorted to alcohol instead!
Boobs still looking crazy and stuck on, can anyone comment on how polyurethane implants heal?

Had a bad day yesterday, I must have done too much the previous day and I definitely pain for it! Had to go back to taking cocodamol so spent the day feeling spaced out!
Woke up today feeling much better but omg my nipples (right especially) are unbelievably sore! I'm getting some zingers too. Hope this doesn't last long.
I've noticed the swelling has gone down loads but I have a definite ridge at the top, which is the hard edge of the polyurethane implant. I've been searching on here for anyone else that's had poly overs - to look for comparisons but I can't really find any. I knew this might be an issue when I saw and felt the sample implants in the clinic and I'm sure it'll soften out, I just wanted to see how this worked out for others.

Has my dressings removed on Friday. Expected to have some stitches removed but they must have been dissolvable as it was just a matter of removing waterproof dressing and some little strips. All healing well.

I mentioned my painful nipples and sensitive skin at the top of my boobs - it's the nerves healing and should resolve in a few weeks / months. Surgeon recommended messaging the area to stop the hypersensitivity.
Feeling pretty good apart from that. The internal bra sutures on the right side (to fix bottoming out) is the only thing I feel now. It's not painful but can get really uncomfortable.
Photos are incisions today (day 12 post op) - surgeon went in through old incision and excused the old scar. You can see the edge of the old scar when the new one is shorter. I'm sure this will blend in given time!

Have had full range of movement with my arms since a week out. Driving since then too. Just putting that out there for anyone considering the procedure. Back to work tomorrow. It's been nice to have a couple of weeks off, one week I think is definitely necessary.
Don't think I'll be seeing any change in boobs for a while. Polyurethane takes a good while to soften. Might not have anything to update on for a while!

It's been 1 month since I had my implants replaced and I have no regrets!
I still have hypersensitive nipples, the right one particularly - you'll notice in the photos it looks smaller - it's just felt the cold more than the other!!
The stretch marks are from my last BA, the lighting isn't very flattering!
I've also developed a rash on one boob over the last few days. Not sure if this is the polyurethane rash or irritation from where the front closure on my bra rubs.
I can still feel the edges of the implant around the upper pole and it still feels sensitive, but I think this is improving. When I felt the hard edges of the implant at my consultation I was aware it could be an issue but I'm confident that as the polyurethane breaks down it'll soften.
Projection is great, I love the fullness at the top. The last year or so of my last implants I was wearing a bra that had upper breast padding, which seems crazy when you have implants!
I've started exercising again but I'm taking it easy. I've not done any circuit training yet as a lot of it is high impact and upper body. I'm a bit worried about messing up the internal stitching. When I wake up in the morning I'm finding the outside of my boobs achy, I'm guessing this is the lateral stitching for the pocket revision. Am i putting too much pressure on my boobs when I'm sleeping on my side?
I'll be seeing my surgeon again in 12 days so I'll ask him if I need to be cautious.
I'm still wearing my post op bra. I have to wear it for 5 weeks in total so just a few days left. It's so comfortable and because it's compression it holds my hypersensitive nipples in place so I might just wear it until that settles down.
I've not been properly measured yet but I think all my swelling has gone down. I did my own measuring today and got 29" underbust and 35" over. Will have to look that up online. Surgeon said it would be unlikely that I'd go up a full cup size but it'll be nice to I'll the top part of a bra again!!

Had my 4 month check up last week. All looking good. Implant edges are still quite firm but I knew to expect this, it should settle as the polyurethane coating breaks down and the scar tissue softens.
I have looked on here for other reviews by women that have had Polytech implants placed over the muscle, but I've not found any. I know they are used quite extensively in Australia but they tend to be anatomical and placed under the muscle.
If anyone has any experience on how these settle (I know it can take more than a year) I'd love to hear from you.
Don't think my review is getting many views but I'll keep it on here in case in helps anyone, plus it's useful for me to see how things are progressing!

I had wanted a breast reduction for over 20 years but was always too squeamish and frightened to actually have it done. However I met with a clinic to discuss the procedure in 2013 but was left feeling scared and uncertain. I met with a "nurse" who was more of a salesperson than a medical professional who gave me the impression that it was very unlikely anything could go wrong and tried to get me to book before I left the initial meeting. Needless to say, this really put me off as it seemed to be taken so lightly and I had never met or heard anything about the surgeons apart from being told they "were the best".

However, I decided to try another clinic in 2016 and what a difference! I chose the Staiano Clinic because it was surgeon lead from start to finish. I was very impressed with my initial consultation and appreciated being well informed on all of the risks and also getting a better understanding of the cosmetic surgery industry. Mr Staiano and his staff were all very friendly and I felt no hesitation in choosing him to perform my surgery. I felt I had found the best and most qualified person for my desired outcome. I'm only one week post operation but am already thrilled with the outcome and Mr Staiano's continued care.
