Dr. Cohen is one of the best surgeons for tuberous breast correction, and I can't recommend him highly enough!! I flew out specifically to see him, and I am SO glad that I did. This is a notoriously difficult surgery to get right, and he did an amazing job on my boobs. I have had a lifelong insecurity about my boobs, I am 37 years old and finally had the resources to get a correction. After doing countless hours of research, I found Dr. Cohen and was impressed by his extensive photo collection of successful correction procedures with tuberous breast patients. I was nervous about getting an anchor lift, but he convinced me that it would produce the best outcome for the overall shape. He (unlike other surgeons I spoke to) was honest with me about the risks associated with implants, which I ultimately decided not to get. Upon the recommendation of Dr. Cohen, I got liposuction of bra fat under my armpits and an anchor lift. The surgery went smoothly, and my boobs are looking great and I am SO happy with the result. I always felt extremely self-conscious about my breasts, and now I feel confident and happy and I smile when I see myself in front of the mirror. Yes, there are scars, but they will fade with time. There are only a few surgeons who actually demonstrate this level of skill to produce a result this good (I have seen too many botched surgery photos from other surgeons on RealSelf and Reddit tuberous breast community!) Aside from his obvious skill, he has an excellent bedside manner and he genuinely really wants to help people. I spoke with several other surgeons who were not as honest and trustworthy as he is. If I were to get any future surgeries I would absolutely not hesitate to see Dr. Cohen again; worth every penny, best decision of my life!!!!! For all the ladies out there who also have this condition, this guy is da best and worth the price.
At the age of 17, after a severe pedestrian vs. car accident, I had breast implants placed to address asymmetry caused by skin grafts. At the time, I was an uneducated teenager who didn’t research surgeons. I ended up with implants that were too large and that I hated almost immediately. After 21 years, two children, and ongoing physical discomfort from the weight of the implants, I was ready to explant. Explant can be intimidating, as you’re unsure about how much tissue you’ll have left or what the results will be. For me, the added complexity of skin grafts and asymmetry made it even more daunting. I knew I needed to find the best surgeon possible to ensure I was happy with my results and that this would be my last breast surgery. I spent years researching surgeons, and although I always knew Dr. Robert Cohen was my top choice, I consulted with a few others. One surgeon warned that my skin grafts could result in severe asymmetry, and that the graft could even die. In contrast, Dr. Cohen’s consultation was reassuring. He simply asked if my grafts were soft and pliable, and when I confirmed, he confidently stated that he could achieve the results I desired. His expertise and confidence gave me complete trust in my decision. Choosing Dr. Cohen was easy. I had followed his work for years and knew he was highly skilled, with a consistent track record of excellent outcomes. I trusted him to deliver the best results, and choosing him eliminated any stress or worry I had about my aesthetic outcome. Dr. Cohen was professional, confident, and direct. Two months before surgery, he drained my saline implants in a quick, painless procedure that gave me time to adjust to a smaller chest and get excited for the breast lift. Immediately after surgery, I was thrilled with the results. My breasts were round, perky, and natural-looking, with well-placed incisions that blended seamlessly with the curves of my body. Recovery was smooth, with minimal pain and no drains (unlike most explant patients). I had no complications, minimal bruising, and received excellent care and follow up from the nurses. The anesthesiologist, also Dr. Cohen, took the time to reassure me before surgery, which made me feel much more at ease. I’m grateful for his kindness. Dr. Cohen’s staff was incredibly helpful and supportive, answering all my questions and guiding me every step of the way (special thanks to Laura). I feel lighter, look thinner, and my clothes fit better than ever. My breasts are fuller and more beautiful than I imagined—several friends have even commented that they look like smaller implants. Dr. Cohen is truly an artist, and I’m beyond happy with my results. My husband agrees, saying it was “money well spent!” Choose Dr. Cohen—you won’t be disappointed.
I want to start by saying that I’ve never written a review for anyone or anything before, but my experience with Dr. Robert Cohen absolutely warrants one. Dr. Cohen performed my breast augmentation, which was my first surgery ever. I had never been under anesthesia, had an IV, or even received stitches before, so you can imagine how nervous I was. It took me years to reach the decision to go through with this elective surgery. During my consultation, Dr. Cohen was honest and direct, while also taking the time to truly listen to my desires. I never felt rushed; his bedside manner was genuinely warm and comforting. He never pressured me to choose a size, instead providing his professional opinion on what would best suit my anatomy, along with all the surgical options available to me. After just one meeting with him, I knew he was the right surgeon for me. In addition to the implants, I also underwent a circumareolar breast lift, which turned out to be more involved than I initially anticipated. Dr. Cohen explained the necessity of the lift to achieve the natural results I desired, and I’m so glad I followed his advice. I do not write these words lightly. From my first consultation to my final post-op appointment, I felt safe, heard, and confident in Dr. Cohen’s care. His work is impeccable; my results look natural, my scars are seamless and barely visible. My friends have remarked in awe of my new aesthetic. Dr. Cohen’s team, including the anesthesiologist, made the entire experience incredibly comfortable and informative, with not a single hiccup along the way. Shayla, his amazing surgical consultant, stayed in constant communication with me, keeping my mind at ease throughout the process. My recovery went smoothly, thanks to Dr. Cohen’s clear and detailed pre and post-operative instructions. If I ever decide to undergo another cosmetic procedure, Dr. Cohen will be my first choice without a doubt. With immense respect and gratitude, I give him more than a five-star review!
Could not be happier with my results from Dr. Cohen! From the initial consultation to surgery and post-op he explained everything so thoroughly and really made me feel at ease and comfortable. I was very concerned with having a natural result and I got exactly that! The entire team- Shayla, Caitlyn, all the staff are amazing and so kind and helpful. I had a breast lift, silicone implants, bra fat liposuction, and Galaflex mesh. I originally went in wanting just implants, but did not understand the additional things I may need for my specific situation. Dr. Cohen explained why I needed each additional part thoroughly and I immediately trusted that he wanted the best result for me. He is a true perfectionist! I'm now 6 months post surgery and completely happy with my results. The scars are fading nicely and I have so much increased confidence in myself which really carries over throughout my life! I could not recommend Dr. Cohen and his team more.
I had wanted a breast augmentation since I was in middle school and in January 2024 I had my initial surgery in NYC with a different doctor. From week 1 of my first surgery, my breasts looked scary, deformed and fake. I was beyond devastated. As months went by, things didn’t improve and it was taking a huge toll on me emotionally. Regretting my decision, I hated looking in the mirror as my results were incredibly asymmetrical and unnatural looking. After countless tears and endless research, I was determined to find the best revision specialist to help fix the situation. I found Dr. Cohen and had my revision in May 2024. From the beginning, my experience was Dr. Cohen was a world of difference. Dr. Cohen, Shayla and the anesthesiologist were so kind and attentive. I’m so thankful that there are surgeons as talented as Dr. Cohen. From the moment I had my revision, I felt like I finally got my life back and could finally stop worrying about my breasts. My breasts look so much better and keep improving week by week. I’m so thankful for Dr. Cohen & team! I can’t recommend them enough and wish I had gone to Dr. Cohen for my first surgery. If you’re deciding whether to travel from out-of-state, I can assure you it’s 100% worth it.
He understood exactly what I wanted and I’m super happy with the results. Shayla, the staff and Dr Cohen were always supportive and helpful during the process and after surgery as well. I had almost no pain from the breast augmentation.
I had a truly amazing breast augmentation experience in December 2023 with Dr. Cohen and his office manager, Shayla. From the initial consultation, Shayla was helpful and communicative: she worked with my schedule and time concerns, which I really appreciated. When I met Dr. Cohen, what set him apart was that he patiently took the time to thoroughly answer all my questions: he never made me feel rushed. Dr. Cohen is an exceptionally knowledgeable surgeon and has a wonderful bedside manner. In my opinion, he is the best in his area of expertise: he specializes in delivering natural results, which is exactly what I received. I am incredibly happy with my result and so lucky to have had Dr. Cohen as my surgeon. I would do it again in a heartbeat, and my mother is planning surgery with him this year as well. Shayla is the sweetest soul and she genuinely cares for your well-being and care. Before and after surgery, she was available whenever I had a question: she was not only responsive, but patient and kind. This was something I am so grateful to her for. Thank you again to Dr. Cohen and Shayla, as well as the lovely nurses at the office. I am a very happy patient!
Dr. Cohan and his staff are so amazing. His bedside manner and the fact that he listened to all of my history of complications was evident at my consultation. I have had my fair share of consultations and surgeries so my fair and honest review should hold weight. From initial email contact to aftercare Dr. Cohan and staff were top notch! You pay for what you get and breast augmentation is not a simple procedure (as you may be able to tell from all my photos). I am truly thankful to have met Dr. Cohan and been lucky enough to have him as my doctor. Dr Cohen is one of the BEST out there! I had a ruptured implant from my first augmentation 11 years ago and was referred to Dr Cohen by a friend in the business. My augmentation is better than the first one, and I can honestly say I completely trust Dr Cohen! When looking for a doctor, trust is the #1 priority. You need to trust that they know what they are doing and will honor what you're looking for. You can, without a doubt, completely trust that you are in good hands with Dr Cohen. He knows what he is doing with 19 years under his belt, never overdoes it, and is always clear about your options. I am SOOO happy with my results, and I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Dr Cohen. I HIGHLY recommend him if you're looking for one of LA's top breast augmentation doctors. Hands down.
Unbelievably wonderful experience from start to finish. I was diagnosed with tuberous breasts and had been looking for some time to locate a doctor with experience dealing with this condition . I found Dr Cohen and went for my first appt in August and scheduled surgery for December. I’m one week out from surgery that was a breast lift, fat graft to breasts ( fat came from strategic lipo) and breast and nipple reshaping. I didn’t end up needing implants. I had minimal ( like none) bruising, and was off pain medications by day 4. I feel that Dr Cohen has the most wonderful bedside manner along with his extraordinary talent. Correcting tuberous breasts is not easy and he was able to completely create round shapely breasts for me I will update post as time progresses but I am so thrilled with my early results . His office staff and surgical coordinator made everything go smoothly and were always available. I also opted in for hyperbaric treatments offered by his office . I’m very grateful to this Dr and his staff.
Hello! While losing weight for health is a good idea in general, studies of patients with higher BMIs have shown that breast reduction for patients suffering with back and neck discomfort is still helpful, and can actually facilitate further weight loss as patients can exercise more easily with smaller breasts. Because of that, I would encourage you to seek breast reduction sooner than later, and simply continue to practice a healthy diet and exercise routine throughout the process.
Breast reduction is one of the few “aesthetic” procedures that is acceptable to perform on patients under 18 years old. This is because large, heavy breasts create a lot of problems such back, neck and shoulder pain, difficulty fitting into clothes properly, and they can attract unwanted attention. Heavy, droopy breasts will almost always get worse over time, so fixing the issue early is usually a great option when possible. Make sure you find a highly qualified surgeon who demonstrates lots of good before and after photos on their website as having the surgery done right in the first place is the key to success. Best, -RC
Hi there- so if you are downsizing from a DD to an A cup, there will be a lot less tissue for gravity to work on so re-drooping won’t be much of an issue. If a superomedial pedicle technique is used (where the upper/middle breast tissue is maintained with the nipple connected and the excess lower and outer breast tissue is removed) the breast will be naturally fuller where it needs to be. I have performed over 1000 reductions and do not routinely fix the breast tissue to the underlying connective tissue as I don’t think this makes much of a difference long term when the surgery is performed properly and a superomedial (as opposed to an inferior / lower breast tissue) pedicle is used.
Hi! You absolutely have more room for improvement in your breasts as they still seem large for your frame and seem to have a fair degree of redrooping. I would recommend a full redo breast reduction with more tissue removal from the lower and outer breast and significant skin tightening which will allow revision of all your scars. Size can be determined by showing photos of what you like proportion-wise based on other breast reduction surgery photos (see my photo gallery as an example). Revision reduction is more challenging and has a few more risks than first time reduction , so make sure you find a surgeon experienced in this type of procedure! Best, -RC
If you have large breasts (DDD would definitely fit that!) and are having back, neck or shoulder issues, a breast reduction will significantly relieve or eliminate those issues. As you get older, the problems often worsen, so I would recommend looking into surgery sooner than later as my older patients who have this feel so much better and almost always wonder why they didn’t do it sooner!
