Scars left on my backside after liposuction. What do I do? (Photo)

Plastic surgery scars require attention after surgery so that they remain cosmetically-appealing and barely noticeable. In our office, we use a protocol for scars that minimizes their activity in the 6-8 weeks after surgery. If you have late plastic surgery scars, you may also require laser and RF therapy to help reduce the longterm effects of the scarring. Keloids, hypertrophic scars, widened scars, red scars, and hyperpigmented scars all require scar modulation with topical creams followed by lasers and RF therapy. Topical skincare should be directed to a specific need, whether for pigmentation or hypertrophy and our office can guide you through the process to obtain the correct Plato’s Scar cream or Melarase cream for hypertrophy and discoloration. In terms of lasers, we would employ the vbeam laser for redness, Venus Viva RF, PRP microneedling, chemical peels, and Morpheus 8, fractional erbium, or fractional co2. All of these have their individual benefits. Most of all, we recommend you visit a solid plastic surgeon who understands surgical scar revision, laser therapy, and RF therapy for scars.

If the access sites for the liposuction are not protected there can be excessive injury to the skin entry sites that may result in cavitation and or hypo/hyperpigmentation. I would personally recommend direct excising of the scars. I would recommend seeing a board-certified or board-eligible plastic surgeon with experience in aesthetic surgery.

I am sorry about scarring but sometimes scar can heal imperfectly. You can try kenalog injection, IPL Laser or scar revision. All of them are reasonable options

There are surgical and nonsurgical options, surgical you can remove scars then use creams, silicon sheets, lasers for improve even more the outcome. If you want non surgical treatments probably laser is your best option, another option is a tatoo of your skin color.

The scars certainly are unfortunate. I recommend having them revised under local anesthesia. They may not disappear completely however I believe they can be improved.

it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. You might benefit from scar revision. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.

You may have had more than just liposuction with your procedure, like skin tightening with radiofrequency that created a small burn around the scars. I would ask your surgeon specifically what was done. Micro-needling may be helpful as well as treatments for the discoloration.

This is not the typical location for incisions to perform liposuction on the inner and outer thighs. I'm sorry that your incisions have healed unfavorably. You can consider scar revision at this time to improve the appearance. You may also benefit from laser treatment.

Your surgical history does not match with the current position of your scars. These locations are not where I place scars for either back liposuction or BBL (of course every surgeon had their technique).
Neither here nor there, you are stuck with pigmented scars which should be addressed. It's late for using any bleaching creams and I do not feel laser would be beneficial.
Revision of the scars would most likely heal better, but the length of the scars will certainly be MUCH longer.

In my opinion, you can have scar revision under local anesthesia . But it is not certain that the result will be absolutely satisfactory.
