I’m 6 weeks post op of a I don’t know the name of the tummy tuck I got it’s an upside down T at 3 weeks I got echar on by the pubic area my Dr told me to massage it with Vaseline to remove it 2 a day till it came off I did. Underneath it I had spitting stitch’s I’ve battling with this for 3 weeks she did tell me it could take 3 months to heal she did take the stitches out! No smell no infection just draining I’ve been putting xerofoam and keeping it covered with a gauze.

Angie,Your surgeon would be the best one to ask as they can examine you to see exactly what is causing the redness and tenderness. That being said, whether it is from a hair or a stitch, you should be using warm soaks and probably an oral antibiotic as well.Best of luck.Dr T
And it costs more than a pain pump with Xylocaine or Marcaine so I prefer to use the pain pump for the first 2 days... at which point most patients are able to manage their discomfort with oral pills.
It looks a bit darker than is usual. This could mean the blood supply is decreased and the outer layer of skin could slough off. I recommend seeing your surgeon so he/she can evaluate it in person and ensure you've got the right treatment. All the best in your recovery, Dr. BlaggAustin, TX
