Answer: Bellesoma Method Your breasts are not tuberous and I recommend a breast lift using The Bellesoma Method. This will reshape your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness without implants, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in 95%) and the ability to breast feed are maintained. Later, fat transfers can be performed if additional volume is desired. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Tuberous Breasts I appreciate your concern, and it does appear that you have mild signs of tuberous breasts. While in person exam would be needed, your options include areolar reduction with the release of tight inferior breast tissue and placement of small implants to maintain a more attractive shape. Come see me or another board-certified plastic surgeon in our area to explore the best options for you. I hope to see you soon.

Answer: No, but... Thank you for your question and photos. The question of whether or not you have tubular breasts is less relevant that the question of whether or not you are happy with your breasts. The features of tubular breast include a protuberance of the subareolar tissues making it looks like they are protruding or "tube like". This does NOT appear to be an issue with your breasts. Another component of tubular breasts is a relatively short distance in the lower pole of your breasts between the nipple and the fold. In your case, based on the photos, it appears that this is so. My best advice is to consult with an experienced board certified plastic surgeon who can advise you on all of your options with regard to breast enhancement surgery. This would almost certainly involve a "breast lift" component to elevate the nipple areola and reduce the areaolar diameter, and may or may not conclude a small implant. The most important aspect of achieving a pretty breast shape is to restore the proper proportions, not only of the breast itself, (nipple to fold distance, areolar diameter, breast volume, etc.) but also the breasts to your overall body. Do your research. Be open to more than one opinion. best of luck to you.

Answer: Tuberous Breast Deformity, Aka "Tubular Breasts" Yes, you do appear to have Tuberous breasts. When patients with Tuberous Breasts want implants, it is very common to need some form of lift. What type of lift will usually depend on how much drooping you have. One of the most prominent components of a tuberous breast deformity is the short distance from the nipple to the infra-mammary crease. You have this too. So, in most cases of tuberous breasts, I want to lengthen the distance from the nipple to the crease so that your nipple winds up directly in front of the implant and above your crease. In most cases this best achieved with a Lollipop lift, with a scar around the areola and extending vertically down to the crease.
