I do think I have tuberous breasts. They are quite pointy and I my nipples are puffy. However I do believe they are on the milder scale? When I’m cold or when I lift them, they look like perfectly normal round breasts and when I lie down, my nippels do pretty much lie flat. My question is, are they in fact tuberous and will I need the tissue scoring? Will a simple BA just give me bigger cone shaped breasts?

Answer: Puffy areolas It is very likely, based on these photos, that you have only puffy, protruding areolas not a tuberous breasts. Correction can be done in local anesthesia with placement of permanent sutures underneath the areola skin which will keep subareola tissues from protrusion. This can be combine with breast augmentation with implants if that is in your mind. Good luck.

Answer: Good question. Thank you for your question and photos. An examination in person by a board certified plastic surgeon would be best to properly evaluate you but based on your photos you do not appear to have a classic tuberous breast deformity. If you feel an augmentation is something you desire, your plastic surgeon can advise you on the optimal implant choices, pocket placement, and technique he or she would be best. I recommend that you make your selection of plastic surgeon based on his or her aesthetic outcomes, reviews and your overall comfort level with the plastic surgeon and the office staff. Best of luck to you.
