I wanted to know if the procedure called nefertiti lift which is done with botox can improve the appearance of neck and jawline?

If your skin is lax around your neck and jawline, you might not be the best candidate. If your muscles are strong, and your skin is in good shape, you will probably appreciate the subtle lift Botox can offer. I like a combination of intradermal and intramuscular injections for this area. Thank you for your question! A combination of non-surgical options like Kybella, PDO NovaThreads, Ultherapy and Thermage would do well in combination for skin tightening for the neck. VASER Liposuction (with ThermiRF, Renuvion and InMode FaceTite) is a great alternative for contouring and tightening the chin and neck and can be combined with a neck lift at the same time, if you're a candidate. Patient selection is important as this is typically reserved for athletic patients who do not have much subcutaneous fat in the neck. When they clench or flex their neck muscles - vertical platysmal bands are seen and these can be effectively treated with botox.  This must be done by experienced providers as there is a limit to how much botox can be put in the platysmal bands without affecting the ability to voluntarily raise their head.  When these muscles are relaxed - it allows the upper facial muscles to pull up unopposed - causing the jawline to appear tighter (in honor of Queen Nefertiti).   I will attach a before and after video on my profile so you can see it.

Dear SMRamirezSal,Thank you for your question. A Nefertiti will improving the muscle bands in your neck, but will not address loose skin or fat. Neck aging really needs a multimodal approach and Botox only addresses one of those factors. Consult with a qualified and experienced injector to learn more.

Botox can relax the platysma muscle and help with the vertical bands. Assuming there is some "tension" in the muscle, relaxing the platysma could theoretically help lift a jowl. The problem is that there just isn't much "tension" in the muscle, so there is very little lift that occurs. Botox can definitely help with active bands, but don't expect much jowl improvement. The Nefertiti lift is for individual vertical platysmal bands in the neck that people get when they tense their neck. It does nothing to the jawline. Hope that helps.Best,Thomas Walker, MD, FACS

Photos would help because if you truly need or desire some sort of a facelift, it is doubtful that the Nefertiti lift will do much at all for you.While Botox and some filler to the jawline region may provide an aesthetically pleasing look, it most certainly is not a facelift! The Nefertiti lift is marketing term. If the website advertising this lift is not showing before and after photographs, then that says a great deal! The only true lift that can be achieved with BOTOX is the lateral brow region.Consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon in our area for a full evaluation and exploration of the best options for you. Botox can sometimes be used to help give a subtle neck and jawline lift. There are also fillers available to sculpt this area such as Volux by Juvederm which is specifically designed for the jawline.      I have had good luck with this technique, but it is only appropriate in a small amount of patients. Typically it is best for patients with a very wide neck/strong platysmal bands. It helps to relax this muscle, causing a sculpting/tightening affect along the jawline/neck. This is something that involves repeat injections every six months or so. I would recommend consulting with an expert, since there may be other treatments that will work better for your specific concerns. Good luck!

The Nefertiti neck lift can help improve the jaw line by relaxing the platysmal bands along the neck. It is dependent on if the sagging neck is due to muscle, fat or skin though. Best to get evaluated by an experienced practitioner to determine if you are a candidate.
