If you do enough Botox on a regular basis, most patients will see a nice smoothing effect of even their static wrinkles. In my medical spa, it is very rare that fillers are used for the horizontal forehead wrinkles.
Hello, thank you for your question. You will benefit from botox, I recommend you to schedule a consultation with a certified expert to further discuss your treatment goals and the best way to achieve them.
Botox it Is a wonderful option for improving wrinkles of the forehead/eyes and it can be very addictive because people love what they see. When given in certain spots, your surgeon can achieve a “chemical Brow lift” with Botox alone. There are also many other options such as laser and chemical peels that can further improve the skin itself. Botox works by relaxing the muscles and usually needs to be repeated every 3 to 6 months.Surgery is another option but obviously more invasive and has scars.I would recommend that you see a board-certified plastic surgeon in your area that is a member of both ASPS & ASAPS and performs a lot of brow lifts but also offers all the nonsurgical options such as Botox injectables and laser treatments. Go over your concerns with them and make sure you walk out of there with several options. I hope this helps and wish you all the best in your surgery and event. Botox works well on forehead muscles. Deep wrinkles will need consistent treatment over time. Injections every 3-4 months. I always tell my patients that all the wrinkles may not go away totally initially, but they will be significantly better. Be sure to see an expert physician injector as brow heaviness and dissatisfaction with results can occur. I would recommend speaking with a facial plastic surgeon to discuss your long term goals and to ask any questions you might have. All the best,
Thank you for your question and photos. Botox will definitely help smooth out our wrinkles. However, fillers can also help since the active ingredient is hyaluronic acid (HA), which stimulates collagen production in your skin. Ultimately a consultation with an experienced physician would be necessary for optimal results. Hope this helps. All the best.
Botox works with proper upkeep. Botox only lasts between 3-4 months. In your first year of Botox treatments, you should aim to have your Botox injections every 3 months BEFORE the wrinkles and lines come back. This helps to reinforce your results. You'll notice after your first treatment that the lines will soften, but after a few treatments, your lines will fade away even more. Just be sure to stay on schedule! Best of luck with your Botox adventure! I strongly recommend seeking an in-person consultation with an experienced injector to determine the number of Botox units you will need.Best, Dr. Anil Shah
Dear ssbree,Thanks for your question. The wrinkles you are demonstrating are dynamic wrinkles, not static wrinkles. Botox will treat these areas very well. You will see improvement after your first treatment. Your wrinkles are deep, however, It will probably take ~1 year of consistent Botox treatment (every 4-6 months or so) to get the results you are looking for.Best regards,Nirmal R. Once the lines have etched in the dermis; Botox will not get rid of them. They will soften over time with consistent use of botox. Medical grade skin care, chemical peels, laser treatments will help with the lines that are etched in. Filler in this area is not recommended. Most of out patients do both Botox and ressurfacing to get the skin smooth and healthy. Then we maintain with botox 3-4 times per year.
Most patients will see satisfying results using a neuromodulator like Botox in this area. This treatment works by relaxing the muscles in the forehead that lead to the formation of the lines. Results develop in the week following treatment and last for three to four months for most patients. It is possible that in your case, where the lines have become more static, results will improve with subsequent Botox injections. Make sure you work with a board-certified dermatologist with extensive training in Botox to ensure an optimal outcome.
Forehead lines are improved with Botox in almost all cases. Botox works by diminishing the muscle mobility in the area treated and then the natural skin elasticity will soften the wrinkles when they are not being continuously pressed into place. In the forehead you do have to balance the decreased muscle motion with the need to not eliminate all muscle tone and cause a heavy appearance to the brows.
