Do I get Botox before or after double chin lipo?

Thank you for your question. Botox is a neuromodulator that is injected directly into the masseter muscle to relax it and narrow the jawline as a result. The medication is targeted directly into the muscle and should not affect the surrounding skin or tissue. Chin liposuction eliminates the submental fat cells under the chin using tiny cannulas and gentle suction. This treatment is done under local anesthetic and requires a few days of recovery time. The two treatments complement one another and are safe in either order. Make sure you work with a board-certified dermatologist with expertise in both these procedures to ensure an optimal outcome.

If you need Botox specifically for functional purposes, such as TMJ or grinding, you may get this at any time. However, if you seek Masseter Botox for aesthetic improvements in addition to grinding, you should consider waiting about 8 weeks post-procedure. It will not matter if you have your Botox treatment before or after your liposuction.  One should not impact the results of the other.
