Would removing 200 CC from a DDD cup be enough to give me my desired results? I want to go as small as possible.

Based on what you are describing, it does sound that you have large/heavy breasts causing physical symptoms, and breast reduction may be an option for you. However, it is difficult to tell without seeing the photos and/or in person consultation.
Schnur Sliding Scale is a scale used by many insurance companies as a guideline for how much breast tissue should be removed in order to improve your physical symptoms.
The goal of breast reduction surgery it to make the breasts smaller and lifted, but also proportionate with the rest of your body. It is reasonable to to expect full C/small D cup breast size after the breast reduction surgery.
I suggest that you discuss your questions and concerns with your Plastic Surgeon for the best cosmetic results.

In general, if patients want to go as small as possible often more than 200cc is removed if one is starting as a “DDD” cup. As plastic surgeons, we often don’t’ guarantee a cup size and the amount removed is just estimated at consultation. During surgery, we do weigh the amount of breast tissue removed. During consultation, I have patients review my before and after photos to help access their desired breast size.

At size 32, each 100 grams of tissue removed corresponds to 1 cup size change. 200 grams removed would take you down to a D not a small C. The technique I recommend is The Bellesoma Method. This will reduce and reshape your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness without implants, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. The weight of the breast is transferred to the underlying pectoralis major muscle resulting in pain relief without excessive reduction. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in 95%) and the ability to breast feed are maintained.

It would be difficult to estimate how much will be removed without seeing photographs and performing an examination. As you said, a fatty breast would weigh less than breast tissue. What makes it more difficult is that bra cup size can vary significantly among manufacturers. Keep in mind, there are limitations to the amount that can be removed during breast reduction if you want to maintain the sensation and blood flow to the nipple. You would also want breasts that are in proportion and harmony to your body. With those considerations, a standard goal cup size after breast reduction is around a C cup. Based on your description alone (no photographs or exam), 200 cc would likely not bring you from a DDD cup to a C cup breast size.

It’s easy to make a breast reduction too small. A lot smaller than you might think. If you say you want to as small as possible you risk being too small and having a poor shape.

breast reduction is best suited for women who wish to decrease the size of their breasts. While there are different techniques used to perform this surgery, I prefer the vertical incision (lollipop pattern) breast reduction technique instead of the anchor scar pattern, which reduces more noticeable scarring than usual. You did not post photos and many women do not actually wear the appropriate sized bra, so I cannot say. Your surgeon has seen you and knows what is best.

Without photos or an exam it is difficult to say if 200g will help you to achieve your desired size. I encourage you to return to your surgeon to discuss your concerns. Typically 200g will reduce you approximately two cup sizes.

Thank you for your question. It is often difficult to predict the exact weight of tissue removed in a breast reduction. Most surgeons will focus on smaller, symmetrical with good shape and proportion to your body type. In all honesty, 200 grams is not very much and coming down from a DDD this does not sound like it would be as small as you would like. Best to interview several board certified plastic surgeons and see who you feel most comfortable with. Breast reduction is a great operation in skilled hands and can really be life changing.

Hi and welcome to our forum!Bra size is an extremely inaccurate measurement of breast size as there is no standardization in the manufacturing industry. One brand's "C" is another's "D", and in addition, many individuals wear ill fitting bras. Without photos or in-person examination, it is impossible to determine.
However:An EXTREMELY rough estimate of bra sizes was published some time ago:A cup…235 ccB cup…450 ccC cup…530 ccD cup…760 ccE cup…1005 ccF cup…1180 ccIf your volume is ~900 cc, removal of 200 cc will make you still a "C+" or "D-" cup....but again, this is an extremely rough estimate based upon a lack of information...but it appears that a 200 cc reduction would not be adequate to achieve breasts "as small as possible".Best wishes...
