I got approved for a reduction last year at the time I weighed 160 pounds and was spilling out of a 36 D since the original consultation I've lost almost 40 pounds and I'm now at 32 DD. I've been to see him and told him I've lost weight and he doesn't seem concerned I have surgery November 10th, I'm nervous that I'm going to be flat chested or they will be too small for my frame. I'm just looking for opinions. The pictures are now after I've lost the weight
Answer: It depends on your goals You should only proceed with a reduction if you are sure that you want smaller breasts. That is a matter of personal preference. A breast reduction surgery will generally also result in longer scars. A breast lift alone is an option if you want to preserve the volume you have, but lift the nipple higher. I feel like you would have a very nice result with this type of surgery.

Answer: Open Discussion The best thing that you can do is be open with your surgeon about your expectations following surgery regarding size, shape, and symmetry. When considering how much tissue to remove, a surgeon should consider symptom reduction, how far the nipple can/should be moved, and the desires of the patient. Some of these factors can be modified based on the type/style of reduction, and others cannot. The best thing you can do at this point is to be open with your surgeon regarding your concerns so that you and your surgeon go into the operation with the same expectations.

Answer: Breast reduction You will need to discuss with your surgeon the amount of tissue that is planned for removal. You also need to express your concerns about size. You may wish to opt for a lift with auto augmentation. This option uses your own tissue to provide upper pole fullness. I've included a video that I hope you find helpful.

Answer: Breast reduction Thanks for your question! I think it's important to be clear about your goals and make sure that is achievable with how much your surgeon intends to remove. I do think you are still a candidate, but you want to be sure your goals aren't undermined by the amount of breast tissue the insurance company requires. Good luck!

Answer: Would I be a candidate for breast reduction after weight loss? Hi, Thank you for the question. First of all, congratulations on your weight loss! Based on your photos, you appear to be a great candidate for breast reduction surgery. During breast reduction surgery, excess breast tissue is removed, the breast is lifted and nipple/areola is typically made smaller. It is easiest to think of breast reduction as including the breast lift. Schnur Sliding Scale is a scale used by many insurance companies as a guideline for how much breast tissue should be removed in order to improve your physical symptoms. The goal of breast reduction surgery it to make the breasts smaller and lifted, but also proportionate with the rest of your body. It is reasonable to to expect full C/small D cup breast size after the breast reduction surgery. I suggest that you seek an in person consultation with a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon specializing in Breast Reduction surgeries to further discuss your options, specific techniques, concerns and expectations. Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results. I hope this helps.Best regards, Dr. Karanetz Dr. Irena KaranetzBreast Fellowship-TrainedBoard Certified Plastic Surgeon
