Pain and redness but not an infection? 8 months after reduction (Photo)

Question

’ 8mpo has been smooth until last week! I have pain in my left breast and it is redIwent to see my PS last week and she put me on antibiotics (JIC, she doesn’t think it’s an infection bc it’s not hot, I don’t feel I’ll etc) **she said I likely popped an internal stitch and sometimes it will take a while to heal** I’m on day 5 on antibiotics. And I do have a lot less pain, but if I’m super active during the day, my breast gets sore/swollen/red in PM. Wondering how long this will last.

I encourage you to follow up with your surgeon once you have finished the course of prescribed antibiotics.  Your surgeon will advise if anything further is needed depending on how you're doing.  Best wishes!

It is important to follow the recommendations provided by the specialist that performed surgery, because it depends on the surgical technique of the plastic surgeon the correct steps to treat the healing process. I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.
