Strange new fold of fat at side of breasts. Can anything be done to correct this? (Photo)

The fold that can occur in the armpit area after breast reduction can be avoided or treated in revision surgery using a combination of techniques. Excision (removal of that roll) in combination liposuction of the armpit area helps to improve the contour in that area. Breast reduction can be combined with axillary liposuction during the initial procedure to help avoid development of this tool.

Based on your photographs, you are still very early in your healing after breast reduction surgery. There is still swelling and bruising. It is much too early to know what the final appearance of your breasts will be. If the fold is still present after you recover, it can be addressed with liposuction to smoothen the contour.

Yes, you have some excess fat in your lateral chest areas which can be removed with liposuction. This is not breast tissue nor is a part of the breast reduction, but it could have been added, unless your procedure was covered by insurance.

From your photos it appears you are very early in your recovery. You will need to wait at least six months to allow for the tissues to heal and settle. If the excess skin is still present and bothersome you can consider a revision to excise this tissue and improve shape.

Looking at your photos, you are still in the early stages of healing. Many times fold, lumps etc. resolve over time.
The lateral fullness appears to be lateral breast fat + - breast tissue. Either way, it is a simple fix. Liposuction in 6 months time (if still present) will cure it.
