Hello there, I am feeling really disappointed about the outcome of my breast reduction, and wish I’d scrutinised my chosen surgeon’s results pics more. I seem to have been given an unnatural fold of flab on the outside of my breasts near my armpit. The breasts just continue into this roll and it looks a little deformed! Is there anything I can do to correct this? My surgeon just tells me my original breasts were much worse before (asymmetrical, 150g L and 450 R removed). Gutted.
Answer: Fold next to breast Thanks for your question! As you heal, that transition will soften with time. However, if you are still unhappy with it, liposuction might also be an option. Be patient and give it some time! Good luck!

Answer: Can I fix the fold/roll that occurred near my armpit after breast reduction. The fold that can occur in the armpit area after breast reduction can be avoided or treated in revision surgery using a combination of techniques. Excision (removal of that roll) in combination liposuction of the armpit area helps to improve the contour in that area. Breast reduction can be combined with axillary liposuction during the initial procedure to help avoid development of this tool.

Answer: Fold From your photos it appears you are very early in your recovery. You will need to wait at least six months to allow for the tissues to heal and settle. If the excess skin is still present and bothersome you can consider a revision to excise this tissue and improve shape.

Answer: Breast reduction results Dear Alaina28,I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice. Answer: Unnatural fold in the armpit Based on your photographs, you are still very early in your healing after breast reduction surgery. There is still swelling and bruising. It is much too early to know what the final appearance of your breasts will be. If the fold is still present after you recover, it can be addressed with liposuction to smoothen the contour.
