Breast lift, revision nightmare. What are my options? (Photo)

Question

Breast lift 7/8 years ago with beautiful results. Had a second and final baby so i went in for a breast lift and mini tt w/different surgeon a year ago. Horrible results, had a “revision” to fix scars while awake in Oct. Still horrible, and a couple weeks later found a bump (and hole) under breast leaking fluid. Doc said it was suture being pushed out and not to worry. This week, lots of pain, and bigger hole with more leaking.. what is happening. This surgeon has messed up my body

Hello, I am very sorry that you have this complication, if you have had the wound for a long time and it is draining, it is important to do a culture to see if there is bacterial growth, secondly it could be necrosis of fatty tissue, and this liquefied fat is draining, if you have implants Probably the most recommended thing is to remove them, you must keep that wound clean and occluded to avoid infection.

I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what is wrong. It is possible that this is caused by spitting suture. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.

Often chronic wounds are due to an underlying issue that needs to be fixed before the wound will go away, this could be an infected suture deep inside, or even an infected implant. If you haven’t been having a large amount of pain, fevers, or redness of the breast then the implant might be ok, but the would should be explored to look for the culprit which is causing this issue for you.

the drainage you explain may be a small collection, or seroma, which is not rare. They often drain and take care of themselves and heal well. The drainage areas may lead back to a collection site, but although these are very scary looking, often you can expect good healing. Any excess scar on the outside can often be addressed with a small office procedure.

If you have implants, your implant is probably exposed and you need to be seen right away. The implant may need to be removed to avoid an infection. If you do not have implants, you may have a small pocket of fluid, a seroma, that needed to be drained, or internal sutures that have become exposed. Please be checked by your surgeon.
