I'm thinking about having another breast lift. But I am very hesitant to get implants or not, my nipples are 19. and 19.5 cm and the upper pole of the breast is empty and I would like my nipples to be located in the middle of the chest and not at the top as it is now. I looked at a lot of reviews that say that implants are not durable and "bottoming out" often occurs. I would like this to be my last breast surgery. Is it possible to increase the upper pole without implants and
Answer: Breast implant, breast augmentation, boob job, breast lift, breast augmentation with implants, breast implants Hello, Thank you for reaching out with your question about whether to opt for a breast lift with or without implants. It's important to consider what you're aiming to achieve with the procedure in terms of breast volume and shape. If you're content with your current breast size and mainly looking to improve their shape or position, a breast lift (mastopexy) alone might be the best option. This procedure repositions and reshapes your breasts for a more youthful and lifted appearance without altering their size. On the other hand, if you desire an increase in breast volume along with a lift, then combining the lift with breast implants would be necessary. Implants can provide that extra fullness and size that a lift alone cannot achieve. In both scenarios, incorporating surgical mesh can be beneficial. It adds internal support, helping to maintain the breast's position and shape over time, especially important to prevent "bottoming out" when using implants. Ultimately, the right choice depends on your satisfaction with your current breast size and your desired outcome. Discussing these details with your plastic surgeon will help you make an informed decision. I hope this response gives you a clearer understanding of your options for a breast lift, with or without implants. Wishing you the best with your decision and procedure. Sincerely, Dr. Katzen

Answer: Lift You can reposition your breast tissue, but you will not have much upper pole fullness without implants. If you do get implants, place them behind the muscle for better upper breast fullness and more support for the implants.

Answer: Breast lift Dear AngelaLenorie, my preferred lift is a lollipop lift when a periareolar won't do (ie greater than 2cm lift required). The lollipop technique was created by a Canadian plastic surgeon named Elizabeth Hall-Findley and treats the breast as a three dimensional structure instead of two dimensions (anchor - lift). Most importantly it does not require the horizontal component scars that the anchor-lift requires and breasts appear much more natural, lifted, and less boxy. Lastly, the lift lasts longer because the lollipop doesn't rely on the skin to hold the breast up, its actually breast tissue thats being brought together to support the breast and hence improves longevity. Answer: Breast lift revision with or without implants? Dear Angela, Thank you for your email, photographs, and details of the previous procedure. Based on my professional opinion, I would advise against breast implants, as the risk of bottoming out would be quite high. Instead, a bilateral breast lift/mastopexy with auto-implants (utilizing the fullness of the lower part of your breasts to improve the upper pole fullness) would likely be the most appropriate option. I recommend finding a skilled plastic surgeon and discussing your wishes and concerns to ensure you make the right decision. Best regards,

Answer: Breast lift revision with or without implants? Hello @AngelaLenorie, thank you for your question. It is possible to reposition and improve the shape of the breast with minimal scarring by raising the base and improving the overall proportion. This will create overall harmony. The lift will be made through an L shape incision scar rather than an anchor with BraLIFT technique (Anatomical Lift Augmentation) can be performed to reposition the mammary tissue and enhance projection of the upper pole and media areas. A consultation is vital to establishing a surgical plan that meets your needs, meets your expectations, and takes into account what is possible. Best wishes! Alan Gonzalez MD, FACS.
