Hi. I would like rhinoplasty but I am also unhappy with the angle between my lip and nose. In your experience, can it be changed without looking overly obvious or changing the projection of the upper lip too dramatically? I would like to look as natural as possible and I'm wondering if changing the angle would make it look too overdone or if In your experience it can be changed with more natural result. Thank you!

Answer: Can the angle between my nose and lip be changed and look natural? The harmony between the nose and the rest of the face is extremely important. Rhinoplasty typically involves changes in the tip, the hump reduction and changing the naso labial angle. All of this can be done more or less as it's required to achieve a natural result. I usually go over my plan by doing a computer simulation so that I understand what the patient has in mind and suggest the changes that I think would be beneficial. This way the patient has an idea of how thing would look like after surgery.

Answer: Nasolabial angle Thank you for your question. This is a very common area that is addressed in rhinoplasty. A good rhinoplasty surgeon can make changes to this area with very natural results. From your photo, I'm guessing that you would like a little deeper recess between the nose and upper lip (less blunted and more acute). This is usually addressed by a small resection of a part of the maxillary spine (a small piece of bone that projects the skin forward at the base of the nose). Other nasal changes can be addressed at the same time if you are so inclined. Consult with a rhinoplasty expert in your area who can give you a detailed exam and guide you through the process of getting the nose you are hoping for. All the best!
