Sirius K. Yoo, MD

I was very unhappy with the appearance of my forehead (smoothness/shape). I was not only looking for a doctor who was overly qualified (this is facial surgery we are talking about!), but someone who I felt comfortable with. After having a Skype consultation with Dr. Yoo, I knew he was the right surgeon for me. He was very comforting and extremely knowledgeable.
I live in Seattle, so most of my interaction with Dr. Yoo and the Sky Team was over the phone. I did make a trip down to San Diego to meet with Dr. Yoo in person and have him examine my forehead. Also the right choice. The entire staff made the visit so pleasant. It was very reassuring. It has now been 1 year since my surgery and I couldn't be happier! The results were better than I expected and I would recommend Dr. Yoo and his staff to anyone who is looking to have facial surgery done. Dr. Yoo has increased my confidence level and I am no longer embarrassed of my forehead. I could never repay him for that.

I have a somewhat unique situation. I had a bad Dysport job last year and it caused severe forehead and brow droop. 8 months later, even after the dysport wore off, my brows still drooped and I still had 2 lumps under my brows. One under each brow. I went to a plastic surgeon in Austin and he did a coronal brow lift surgery. It lifted my forehead up but the lumps under my brows persisted. I finally realized these were the corrugator muscles themselves that were probably pulled out by the frotalis muscle when it was paralyzed by the dysport. I desperately wanted to look right again. I found Dr. Yoo on google since he had an informative video about corrugator muscles removal. I traveled all the way from Texas to San Diego to have this surgery done. It's been a week and I can tell I look a lot better already and the dreadful lumps under my brows are finally gone!

I had a consultation with Dr. Yoo of Sky Facial Surgery and I appreciated the his honesty, kindness and straight forward nature when explaining how he would approach my procedure. I have had two previous (poorly performed) rhinoplasties and I am searching for the last time I will do this. Dr. Yoo has a great demeanor and communicative office staff.

I have researched for the perfect doctor who I can trust my face with for two years, and after numerous consultations with many doctors all over San Diego, I stopped at Dr. Sirius Yoo. His clinic really stood out to me due to to its professional layout and helpful staff. He also has his own certified operation room, which helps with calming your nerves on the day of the operation due to everything being in one place. When you are certain on your decision about getting the surgery, it is important to know your anesthesiologist and the nurses that help your surgeon with your operation and with the post-surgery check ins. Dr. Yoo’s nurses and anesthesiologist are all very professional and know their job really well, and that makes you feel very relaxed because you know that you can put all your trust on them. I did upper and lower blepharoplasty and lower face and neck deep plane face lift. Everything was done with the most exceptional care and precision which resulted in incredible outcomes. Even the stitches that Dr. Yoo had done where perfect and I have personally have seen many stitches so I know good stitches when I see them!! The stitches have also healed with no scarring at all. Dr. Yoo has done a stunning job. I have waited almost a year to write this review in order to be 100% confident. I look at least 10 years younger, but my face still looks really natural and I still look like myself. Everyone has given me compliments on my looks and I feel much more confident. The surgery itself is not cheap but it is worth every single penny. I recommend SKY Facial Plastic Surgery to anyone who is looking for a marvelous doctor with a wonderful team!!

Hi RealSelf! So I have been self conscious about my lower face and chin for as long as I can remember. It wasn’t until I saw a photo of myself from when I was trying on wedding dresses that I thought “I’m gonna do something about this!”

I didn’t think twice about the doctor I would go to. Dr. Yoo has been doing my botox treatments for some time now and aside from the trust I have in him he has the BEST possible credentials.

Dr. Yoo and the SKY team are so great about answering your questions and holding your hand through the process. I’m just three days away from my surgery and I’m SO excited!

I did it! I honestly thought the procedure was easy as pie. I was a little nervous at the idea of being awake but Dr. Yoo and the team made me feel so relaxed.

He started by putting topical numbing cream all over my lower face. After that he made small incisions behind each ear and under my chin so he could insert the blunt cannula. The blunt cannula was used to fill up my face with a bunch of numbing medication. I couldn’t feel a thing past that and I almost fell asleep a couple times!

I’ll have to wear the head wrap for 3 days to help keep the swelling down. Can’t wait to see the results! ????

The first two weeks of recovery have been pretty easy! I did have some pain and soreness for the first few days after surgery but it was totally manageable with the pain medication. I talked with a bit of a lisp for the first week since my face was so numb. My chin and the front of my neck are still definitely tender and numb but it’s continuing to get better.
As for the results so far, I’m AMAZED! Dr. Yoo said I would see the full results from the laser assisted liposuction around 3 months post op but I already see a huge difference which is so exciting!
Can’t wait to make the next update!

I had a Rhino & Chin Implant done by Dr. Yoo 3 weeks ago, and wanted to write a review on how AMAZING my results are so far!! The “after” picture was taken 10 days post op. I had pretty much zero bruising on my face (only yellowing around the eye bags) as you can see on the second picture, 3 days post op. Recovery on my nose was a piece of cake - pain was probably a 1 or 2. What did hurt the most was my chin which I would rate a 7 on pain. It was very manageable on meds, but could definitely feel them start to wear off by the 4th or 5th hour (I took 2 pills every 6 hours). It wasn’t pain I couldn’t tolerate, but definitely uncomfortable. I was in a 7 hour car ride home on day 2 and was just fine. Very difficult to eat, however. By the 6th day I felt much better from my chin. At 3 weeks post op, I can finally eat normal & had the burger I’ve been craving! Zero pain, only weird “zig zag” feeling on my chin every once in a while (almost like there’s a little bug crawling inside) which I imagine is due to the nerves reconnecting (my bottom lip won’t budge). I am soooo happy with my results so far, and can only imagine how beautiful the results will be by the 6th month post op. I 100% recommend Dr. Yoo & his staff (nurse Jessie in particular who calmed my nerves the morning of surgery!) and would do it all over again if I had to. It was worth every penny!!!!

Just wanted to add a quick picture update! The before pic was taken Christmas Day 2017, surgery was December 2018, and this is now 6 months post op. I forget I got my chin done as it feels like my very own! It’s still a little sensitive when I touch certain parts but otherwise looks/feels great! My nose is also amazing, but having issues with breathing from my left nostril. Hoping it’s just swelling inside as the breathing fluctuates throughout the day but is mostly stuffed up :( Other than that, I am so happy with how it looks.

I am beyond grateful to Dr. Yoo and his staff for the superior treatment I received from the beginning consultation to the end-result post-surgery. When I decided to correct my nose and chin finally I thoroughly did my research in seeking out the BEST facial plastic surgeon not only in San Diego but in my personal opinion the world; it paid off. I couldn’t be more pleased with my new and VERY much improved appearance. After many years of being insecure of how off balance my face seemed, the result of breaking my nose twice in childhood, I was fortunate enough to cross paths with Dr. Yoo who is not only professional but extremely compassionate, kind, with the warmest demeanor. He not only listened to my needs but my anxieties about plastic surgery and was very empathic and reassuring in what he could deliver realistically to help me achieve my desired result. The result was better than anything I could've ever thought possible! Excellent, better than I expected. Dr yoo did my revision rhinoplasty and he did an amazing job. I’m in love with my results. ( I had a primary rhinoplasty not successful in Tijuana MX and After my first rhinoplasty I had depression, I thought my nose would never look good, I went with several doctors and they just wanted to raise my nose like a pig). Today I’m in my 5th day post op and I’m very happy.

For reference This used to be my old botched nose ( After My unsuccessful Tijuana, Mexico surgery). I had a bump, I wasn’t able to breathe well and way too narrow for my face. I’m still happy with my actual surgery.

Here you have more pictures of my old nose after my septorhinoplasty in Tijuana, Mexico. I had an extra tiny bridge, skinny pointy nose and no tip projection. That’s why I was so depressed and sad.

After meeting with many plastic surgeons in Orange County, I decided to broaden my search for a surgeon to San Diego. I came across Dr. Yoo, absolutely LOVED his before and after photos and all of his reviews were positive, so I booked a consultation and a few months later booked a rhinoplasty with him on December 22, 2017 (which was today). Throughout this whole process, his staff has been so amazingly kind and they go above and beyond to make sure their patients are taken care of. I was blown away by how easy surgery day was, my procedure was only an hour and a half and I woke up with little to no pain. So far, I love how my nose is looking and can't wait to see the final results. I couldn't have asked for a better doctor or a better experience with my rhinoplasty! Thank you Dr. Yoo and staff :)

I slept well last night, but just like everyone warned me my mouth was super dry. I'm a little more swollen today but super shocked, I thought I would look way worse. My pain is about a 2, but I'm mostly uncomfortable.

I haven't posted an update just because nothing new has really happened! I'm still sleeping super well, my pain hasn't passed a 2/10 and I have minimal bruising. The picture was from Monday, 3 days after surgery (day 4 counting surgery day)

I got my cast off today! I was so scared to get the stitches removed but it honestly wasn't that bad, just uncomfortable. My nose is still super swollen but I still love it so much! So worth it!!

I always feel insecure about my face, always think i’m not as pretty or not as good looking like the celebrities i see on television and movies until i found out they had something done on their faces. In my case as a Filipino, most celebrities from home had their noses done to improve their faces. As soon as i learned how to use Photoshop in college, i always edit my face to see how i would look with a refined nose and i started to like what i’m seeing.
I decided to go to Dr. Sirius K. Yoo of SKY Facial Plastic Surgery for this important decision of my life. He specialize in facial cosmetic surgery and double board certified. My surgery will be on Nov. 24, 2017 for a Septo-Rhinoplasty.

The clinic scheduled me for a 2nd consultation today since my 1st consultation was from last year (2016)....Dr. Yoo even for the second time, is still very nice and reviewed me the plan we both agreed on last year. So he will do a cartilage graft from my ear to build my bridge higher, will narrow my nostrils and give me a more defined nose tip. This got me very excited and of course nervous since this is my first surgery ever but Dr. Yoo and the nurse assured me that i’m in good hands.

I finally had surgery yesterday and it went smooth. Anesthesiologist gave me the meds via I.V. and I was out within 10 sec. the next thing I know they’re waking me up in the recovery room and told me I did great and everything went fine. My throat would feel like i have a sore throat since they had to put an oxygen tube down since it was a general anesthesia.

Today is day one of my post op and so far there’s no bruising (Dr. Yoo did not break any bones since it’s just augmentation) The swelling is just fine and the pain is tolerable (with the help of pain meds of course if i need it) The picture attached was taken yesterday after surgery, before I went to bed.

My nose does not discharge as much anymore so i’m just going to put my drip gauze during the night. My face is just a little swollen but so far so good. i did not take any pain meds today to see if it will be painful but so far it just feels like you have a cold and your nose is congested, that’s it and soreness. I think i can do without the pain meds. ????????

Dr. Yoo just removed my cast and sutures. The nose is still swollen and i’m aware that it will swell a little more in the next couple of days. But so far I still love my new nose even if it’s still swollen. :-)

My nose really looks natural and even if my baby accidentally bumps his head to my nose it doesn’t get disfigured hahahaha! No more feeling of tightness or swelling inside but i still use q-tips to clean my nose (i got so used to it already) Here’s my updated pic.

This is my recent picture as of today 6/30/2019 and i still LOVE my new nose. I don’t feel any tightness anymore and this year will be my second year post-op. I wish Dr. Yoo would also do body surgeries haha! because i surely would go back.
