I am getting breast augmentation in early March. I just got into weight lifting this year and want to get back to it as soon as it is safe. The doctor mentioned 4 weeks before I can go back to my normal routine. Others have said 6 weeks. I am curious as to how soon others got back into a full workout routine. Thank you.
5 Exercise Rules to Follow After Breast Surgery
Answer: Workout after breast augmentation? We plastic surgeons all do things somewhat differently based on our training and experience. Best advice is to listen to what your surgeon has to say. They will be the one taking responsibility for your outcome and will want you to have the best result you can achieve.

Answer: How soon can I workout after breast augmentation? Thank you for the question. Long-term patients who undergo breast augmentation surgery should be able to return to all activities with full strength. Timing to return to specific types of exercise will vary from one patient to another. Best to check with your plastic surgeon for specific advice. Generally, I suggest patients gradually ease back into the strenuous aerobic exercise 4 to 6 weeks postoperatively, assuming that they are doing well and there have been no complications. Lower body exercise can generally be resumed 2 weeks postoperatively. Use common sense, listen to your body, and gradually resume previous activity. In my practice, I ask patients to avoid contact and strenuous exercise involving the pectoralis major muscles ( such as push-ups, bench press, burpees, dancing on a pole…) for at least 3-6 months. Best wishes.

Answer: Breast Augmentation and Exercise I generally allow my patients to resume full activity such as going back to the gym in 4 weeks. The common question that is asked is "can i go back earlier and only do lower body?" The short answer is no. Working out no matter what body part is being worked on causes a rise in blood pressure that may lead to increased risk of bleeding.Every surgeon has their own timeline, some shorter and some much longer. I would always ask and follow what your particular surgeon recommends.Hope that helps.
