Shower after surgery. Do I wrap back up afterwards?

Congratulations on having undergone the breast augmentation and arm lifting procedure. Always best to run these types of questions by your plastic surgeon, who knows your situation best, knows how you are progressing, and is ultimately responsible for your care. There are a variety of ways to manage postoperative patients;  the only one that matters in your case is that "prescribed” by your plastic surgeon. Best wishes.

Hi there and thanks for posting.One of the most common questions I get asked.My view is that showering is good, it makes you feel better, and it does no harm. There is no evidence whatsoever that it caused issues in postoperative wounds, however some surgeons and wound care nurses advise against it. I do not understand the rationale.Your dressings should be able to tolerate getting wet, and you can always use a hair dryer to dry further.With regards to any supportive garments, yes put them back on after the shower and after everything has dried.Best wishesRichard
