Hi, I have a boxy tip and wide cartilage part but my bridge is narrow and my profile is straight so I don’t want to touch the bony part. I just want my tip to be narrowed, sharpened and shortened so the tip looks sharper as it’s slightly slanted and a little droopy at the tip (just ever so slightly). Below I will upload photos of both sides profiles, front view and nostrils. Also would it be possible to bring the sides of the tip in a little more?
Answer: Tip projection and rotation Hello,Yes indeed this is possible. By projecting your tip and lifting the droop with changing your tip cartilage shape it will achieve what you see.Kind regards

Answer: Tip plasty Thank you for your question and sharing your photographs. Although technically it is possible to just increase the definition of the nasal tip there are a few potential problems to consider: There is a slight deviation of the nasal bridge to the left in the upper third which will become more visible when the tip is narrower The nasal tip support appears soft with slight supratip excess and more likely to droop when smiling. If this is not corrected and the tip is narrower on the oblique view when smiling the nose is likely to look longer. A computer simulation of isolated changes to the nasal tip can give you a better understanding of the impact of isolated tip plasty. 3D imaging may provide even better appreciation of the semi-profile or oblique view.

Answer: Rhinoplasty Thank you for your questions and for sharing your photographs. Based on the limited view from your photographs, yes a Tip Plasty can address your concern about your nasal tip, however you may also benfit from a conservative reduction of your nasal hump. One can avoid surgery on the nasal bone. I would suggest that you consult with an expert rhinoplasty surgeon and discuss what you do and do not like about your nose. You should expect a full detailed examination of your nose is required to assess your nasal skin, cartilage, bony structures, and your nasal airway/ breathing. This will allow the surgeon to evaluate your nasal appearance and its relation to your facial features. The use of manipulated (morphed) digital clinical photography provides a platform for discussion as to your desires and expectations. Such images are not a guarantee of exact results, but a great tool to ensure that you and your surgeon are on the same wavelength. Best wishes,

Answer: Changing the nasal tip with tip plasty alone You are very specific in the changes you wish to have. A full rhinoplasty is likely to give you a better overall outcome and nasal cosmesis. Having said that, the changes you have specified can certainly be achieved by a tip plasty. You should also be aware that different surgeons may have different understanding of what a tip plast would entail, so it would help to be very clear in defining your concerns and ensuring these changes can be achieved through their tip plasty technique.

Answer: Tip rhinoplasty Dear lookingforsurgery, thank you for your question. The tip of your nose can be improved with a tip rhinoplasty with better approximation of the cartilages in your tip, as well as correcting the droopiness. Nonetheless, it would be better if you are seen in clinic where a more detailed assessment of your nose can be made and the subsequent management plan formulated.
