Will Chin Lipo remove fat/improve jawline? (Photo)

Morpheus 8 is a non-invasive skin and soft tissue tightening treatment that is consistently amazing in our patients. We use the Morpheus to exact fractional induced RF into the skin or tissue in order to tighten collagen and stimulate contraction of the tissue. For acne scars, it is quite useful to build collagen in patients who have atrophic scars but is not very productive for ice-pick scars which require TCA Cross. For tissue tightening, Morpheus is ideal for the face and neck and we often combine it with CO2 laser or Ultherapy to further enhance results. Chemical peels and skin resurfacing should be done at least 5 to 7 days after, but can be performed earlier, depending on treatment severity. Avoid exfoliating skin treatments before Morpheus and expect a period of 2-4 weeks for skin contraction to set in.

I would reocmmend a lower facelift/necklift. Liposuction will only suction the superficial layer of fat. You have excess superficial and deeper fat in combination with excess skin and a loose platysma muscle. The only way to correct any of these appropriately with a good outcome is surgery. I recommend seeing a plastic surgeon who has completed at least 6 years of plastic surgery training (ideally 7 if an aesthetic fellowship was completed).

​I find that VASER liposuction in combination with Renuvion or ThermiRF are best for contouring the chin in those who are candidates, but Kybella can be used as an alternative and gets better results when combined with Thermage/Ultherapy/Exilis, TruSculpt iD, or Coolsculpting. Thank you for your question! Based on your photo, I would recommend chin lipo + necklift. The chin liposuction will remove the fat, but not tighten the skin, so you would end up with loose skin. You would need to meet surgical criteria for this procedure and be in good general health. I recommend seeing a board-certified plastic surgeon who performs neck lifts for a consult.

Hello, hope you are well. The area could be improved somewhat with liposuction, but my recommendation would most likely be a neck lift. The results would be much more satisfying, and from a technical point of view a neck lift allows other deep structures of the neck to be addressed (digastric muscles, etc).

Based on your photos you can consider chin liposuction, but you risk having loose, sagging skin. An in person consultation is best but a neck lift may be the better choice for you. See a board certified plastic surgeon near you for an evaluation.

Our practice does almost 100 neck liposuction cases a year, my experience is patients in their 20's and 30's the skin snaps back well, once you get into your 40's, 50's, 60's the skin can sag. I've had maybe 5-10 40+ patients who did neck lipo alone with good skin quality get good results without removing skin. Most patients in their 40's and up will need skin removed unfortunately, and that's a face/neck lift.

In order to make an assessment for the neck, we need to see quality pictures that show the relationship of the mandible in relationship to the Maxilla. Look at how plastic surgeons take before and after pictures to get an idea of what kind of pictures we need. There are multitude of variables to take into consideration. The most important of these facial, skeletal relationships between the Mandible and Maxilla. The great majority of people seeking this procedure have an imbalance with a Mandible that is either smaller or lacking in forward, projection. There’s typically presents with a lower lip that has less forward projection than the upper lip. It typically also means having an overbite dental occlusion. Other tissues that contributes our laxity of the platysma muscle, which is directly related to the shape of the mandible, skin laxity due to age and subcutaneous fat, and other structures.
My best guess is you do better with a neck lift than you would with Liposuction.
I suggest having multiple inperson consultations with local board-certified plastic surgeons in your community.
