I’m thrilled that I made the decision to have surgery with Dr. Wulk. I was referred to him from another physician because I was so unhappy with my tired eyes that made me look so much older than I am. I set up an initial consultation with him, and another consult with another plastic surgeon. I first went for my consult at the other plastic surgeon’s office. He asked what my concerns were. I told him that I was bothered by my eyes. He suggested an upper and lower blepharplasty. I asked if he thought I should get a brow lift along with it and if there was anything he could do for my asymmetrical eye brows. He told me he could pull my lower brow to my higher brow and do a brow lift if that was what I wanted. I asked if he thought I would look surprised. He said “no” and said he thought it would look fine. I was in and out within 10 minutes and I wasn’t convinced raising my one eyebrow to the level of the other was the solution to my asymmetry. I then went to see Dr. Wulk. It was a completely different experience. Debbie spent hours with me talking about my concerns and what to expect. When Dr. Wulk came in, he took measurements and actually asked me if I was ok with the asymmetry of my eye brows. I told him I would like it corrected since he would already be doing the upper and lower blepharplasty. He suggested slightly lifting one brow and reshaping the other. He put so much time and thought into coming up with a plan that was exactly what I needed. It was a completely different experience that made me feel like they were customizing everything to my exact needs and concerns. I am now 2 months post-op and couldn’t be happier with the results! My eyes are brighter and more lifted and my festoons (which I’ve struggled with forever) are finally gone!!! My asymmetry is much improved! I would recommend Dr. Wulk to anyone interested in this type of surgery!
I began my journey to Dr. Wulc over a year ago. Though relatively young (42 at the time) my drooping eyelids and brow had bothered me for years. I first consulted with a well known surgeon in the area who had done beautiful work on a friend. She felt due to a few factors that she wasn’t the best for for me and recommended Dr. Wulc. She said that when it comes to cosmetic surgery of the eye and brow area he was simply the best and is who many surgeons themselves go to. I first met with Nurse Debbie who was very thorough and explained my options if I wanted to proceed. I did and she set up the appointment with Dr. Wulc. It was a several month wait but worth it as Dr. Wulc took a great deal of time with me explaining what he saw as the issues and the possible solutions, and unlike so many surgeons, he asked my opinion and actually listened. I felt very comfortable after our meeting and scheduled surgery for several months into the future due to work responsibilities. In the interim I had a surprise move to North Carolina but kept my appointment as there was no one else I could imagine performing the surgery. The Sunday before my Monday pre-surgical appointment my toddler accidentally scratched my cornea pretty severely. I called and left a message at the office and Dr. Wulc called me back that day and was so kind and said we should reschedule until the eye heals. He had his office staff take care of all the details and I was rescheduled for a month later. I was very nervous leading up to the surgery, this is my face after all, but at the pre-surgical appointment Dr Wulc again took a great deal of time with me and again explained in great detail his plan and we talked through it. I was able to sleep well that night. Surgery went as planned and both Dr. Wulc and Nurse Debbie called me that evening to see how I was feeling. Debbie had me text pictures every day until my follow up a week later. Again at the follow up Dr. Wulc was amazing. I am only about 8 days out from surgery but already am so happy with the results and can’t wait to see how I look in three months. Dr Wulc and his team provide extensive pre and post operative information and instructions which I followed to a T and I do think this has contributed to my positive outcome. Dr. Wulc is not an instagram famous plastic surgeon. My partner however, went to such a surgeon for liposuction and had a vastly different experience than me. The staff was uncoordinated and he received multiple conflicting instructions for pre and post surgery. That Dr was very nice prior to the surgery but literally became a different person afterward with little follow up and very dismissive of my partners concerns when he was finally able to schedule a follow up. I’ll take a non instagram famous Dr like Dr. Wulc any day. I was just fortunate enough to have him recommended!
I had the great fortune of being referred to Dr. Allan Wulc for some work I needed done on my eyes. I was looking to have my tear ducts repaired, and I decided to invest in having my under eye 'bags' removed (blepharoplasty) at the same time. Dr. Wulc approaches his work with great artistry, surgical skill, incredible knowledge, and an eye for aesthetics. I was impressed that he includes a holistic approach and has his patients take certain vitamins that will assist with the surgery and healing process. With the combination of his surgical skill and pre- and post-surgery regime, I was astounded with how quickly I healed and how incredibly effective and beautiful the result of my surgery is. I also have to give a shout out to the support staff at W Cosmetic Surgery, especially Debbie Tuccillo who navigated the post-surgery healing period with me and promptly answered any and all questions I had with incredible care and skill. I can not recommend Dr. Wulc and W Cosmetic Surgery highly enough!
I have known Gina, Dr. Wulc's medical aesthetician, for over 6 years and remained a steady client due to her knowledge and skill in the treatment of Rosacea. Her expertise has provided greater than expected results! She is professional, personable and has the best interest of her clients in mind. I highly recommend Gina for optimal skin care!
Five years prior to seeing Dr. Wulc I had an upper blepharoplasty by another doctor in the Philadelphia area. Afterwards, it basically looked like I had nothing done. I did not trust him to do a revision surgery. I had a surgical consult with Dr. Wulc to consider having another upper blepharoplasty. He asked for pictures of me from various times of my life. He studied my face and the pictures and said he would use my 40 year old face as his model. (I’m 60 and that sounded great to me!) Debbie reviewed many patient before and after pictures with me and helped me decide how much eyelid I wanted to have. She went over the basic procedures and what to expect after surgery. Dr. Wulc recommended an upper and lower blepharoplasty, brow lift, under eye laser and fat transfer in various places in my face. Wow, I was not expecting all of that but seeing the many pictures of patients who had all of these procedures convinced me. Debbie told me many people who only do an upper blepharoplasty are disappointed because the other areas of the eyes and face look older compared to the “new eyelids”. I was very calm going into surgery as I was totally confident in Dr. Wulc’s abilities. Being able to see many of his successes helped with this. I followed his pre and post surgical supplement regimen to the letter and had NONE of the bruising I had with my prior surgery (performed by another doctor). Dr. Wulc FaceTimed with me after I got home from surgery and Debbie followed up with me by text in the days following. I had several follow up appointments and Megan, Dina and Carol were great. They are a very nice group of people. I have since had a couple of Clear and Brilliant treatments with Gina. She is very kind and thorough and I love what she has done for my skin. I will continue to see Rachel for lash lifts and brow laminations. Love the results and she has great touch! My skin is glowing and I have had many compliments. I highly recommend Dr. Wulc and his wonderful staff!
I developed lumps around my eyes that were very distributing. After receiving steroid treatments from a dermatologist that made the damage even worse, Dr Wulc performed a fat transfer treatment that evened the lumps and filled in creases. I can now go out without wearing glasses.
I had a chin liposuction procedure and I am BEYOND happy and satisfied. The entire team is extremely professional and incredibly detailed about every single aspect of pre op, post op, and future recovery details. Dr Wulc is in a class of his own. Whatever you are thinking about doing, he will treat you with the utmost respect and care. They call and check up on you very frequently and I never felt as if my questions weren't answered or that I was not in good hands. Will absolutely reccomend to all in my network.
I just had my PRP treatment and I have to say, I went in nervous but from the moment I walked in the door I couldn't have felt anymore comfortable. From Rachael at the front desk to Dr Wulc and Carol going over everything with me, Meghan who took my blood and made me feel calm while doing so, to Debbie and Gina who did the procedure and made it seem like a breeze. I love this place and staff and will be back. Highly recommend!!!
Around my 50th birthday I was at my medical doctor for a check up and because I have a good relationship with him, I asked him if he thought I should get a face lift, he stared at me and said yes you should. I asked where do I go, he got on speaker phone with his daughter, a plastic surgeon in Atlanta Georgia and she told me to go to DR Wulc in Plymouth Meeting, he was the best, she had studied under him. She said he was an exceptional, careful, doctor with incredible vision into what will be. My medical doctor is also a very well respected Dr in our area and his two children that have gone on to be highly esteemed Dr's as well. I trusted them both so I went to consult with Dr Wulc and then I stalled from fear of the unknown and the fact that I didn't believe I could take the time off I would need, being a professional myself now and an ex model, looks matter and I thought my clients can't see me looking bad, what if it turns out horrible or I don't look like me but better so.... I waited years to finally have the surgery but kept going to Dr Wulc and his staff, for laser, fillers, botox, products. Then one day he said I was wasting my money get the face lift. and I stalled again. I must have had at least 3 consults just on surgery ( I still have all the packets from the consults ) along with going there often for all the other office procedures. Everyone knew me I couldn't have been more comfortable with everyone in the office but I was scared in my own mind, I couldn't control the outcome. I am a perfectionist myself, but after ten years of going there I made the decision and haven't looked back since. I prepared myself, I meditated and prayed about it. I took the proper vitamins, prepared myself and my home for the surgery, I was so ready and I knew it. The doctors around me going into the operating room and yes I spoke to all around me before going under anesthesia and Dr. Wulc and I joked a little , then I was out and woke up singing Christmas Carols after 5 hours of surgery. My surgery was last December. I had an eye lift, cheek lift, forehead lift, under eye lift and my own body fat injected. micro needling, basically everything from my ears up. Dr Wulc is an extraordinary Doctor, I use that word for few people I have crossed paths with in my lifetime. You can stare at your face for ten years if you are like me but it only takes him a few minutes to know what your future holds, Just do it! But.. you need to prepare yourself and do what they tell you to do. You are going to love your new you! Updated on 24 Oct 2020: I added the wrong photo with my review. Here is a photo with my eyes open and I have to keep writing because it keeps telling me I need 200 characters.. Still not enough have to keep writing... Still not enough, Real self could make this easier..
Hi Stollie I would suggest going in to your surgeon with a face that has not been injected with Botox. The reasons for this: Botox can drop the brows--and sometimes raise them--giving the surgeon the false impression that you might need a brow lift when in fact all you need is an upper blepharoplasty.Botox can lessen crows feet wrinkling and diminish your marionette fold and even neck cords, so it's better to do without. Those aging elements can be addressed at the time of surgery but your surgeon won't get the idea of the real you, the you that is he/she is going to be working with/on. In our practice, if a new patient who is considering blepharoplasty or facelift has had Botox or any other neurotoxin, we send them away and ask them to return again in 2-3 months based on the timing of their previous injection. So you will only be postponing surgery if you get it--or your surgeon won't be able to accurately assess your baseline state. Good luck in your consultation!
Hi Jamos in Sydney!Very difficult to judge from photos, but it seems that you have lower lid puffs, under eye dark circles at the junction of the lid and the cheek, a hollow along the inferior orbital rim--called the tear trough--and a few lower eyelid wrinkles. Most surgeons address the lower lid fat excesses by removing or repositioning the fat. The lower lid skin looseness and crepiness can be addressed with a skin pinch, a chemical peel, or a resurfacing laser. The latter two procedures can address the darkness more effectively than a skin pinch. The tear trough hollow is either treated by adding fat taken using a liposculptural approach--taking fat with liposuction from another area on the body, processing it and then injecting it directly to the area where it is most needed. The best approach to this is the one that your surgeon is most familiar with and get the best most consistent results from. Every one of the above mentioned procedures enjoys success in the hands of a competent and experienced surgeon. Look at their results in patients that look like you--that may be the best means of making a decision. Good luck!
Hi SociableYou feel that your eyelids are droopy and in the photos you sent, I have to agree. You have a bit of drooping both of the eyelids themselves and of your eyebrows. A consult with an oculoplastic surgeon will give you some helpful information as to how the droop can be corrected. When it impairs your vision to a signficant degree, it is possible that your medical insurance may cover the correction--or at least a part of it. Your dark under eye circles could be managed with a variety of topicals, and for that you could consult with the same surgeon mentioned above or consider seeing a dermatologist. Good luck!
Hi Cheerful331303 You are definitely asymmetric. If anything the right upper eyelid appears retracted. That would be consistent with your history of thyroidectomy--you may have thyroid related upper eyelid retraction. You and your doctor would need to look at pictures of you from years ago before you developed any thyroid problems to see whether the right upper eyelid has changed position--actually gone upwards. I also don't see any asymmetry of the pupils in this photo--something I would expect in a patient with Horner's syndrome. Your options are to consider additional ptosis surgery to the left eye--either using an internal approach as was done prior and which has been described, or more likely an anterior approach where the tendon to the muscle not affected by the Horner's syndrome, the levator muscle and its aponeurosis can be tightened. Another option--one that I would probably recommend-- would be to lower the right upper eyelid. This procedure would probably give you the most natural and aesthetically appearing result. The procedure, like the MMCR, can be done with an internal approach. Good luck!
Hi Danelelectro67 It's very hard from the photographs to judge whether you are overcorrected or whether there is a scar in the location of the divot. It actually would be best to consult with the original surgeon. If it's a scar, it's correctable because it's not a skin scar: it would be in the deeper layers. Options include injecting filler which is usually done in the office, or adding fat, either taken with liposuction techniques and injected, or by actually adding small fat "pearls". Good luck!
