Dear Thriving770351,in most cases internal lift is strong enough so there are no restrictions for daily activities. Every plastic surgeon has his own postoperative protocol which he recommends to his patients. I would suggest you to discuss this with your plastic surgeon.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Hi Thriving770351,I am not sure exactly what you mean by an internal lift. However, breast lift does vertically raise the breast tissue, in addition to allowing an active reshaping of the breast with vertical raise of the nipple and decrease in areola size. Scars (both internal and external) gain strength over time, and I generally would suggest waiting at least one month to a return to full unrestricted activity. Long-term, your results should not be damaged by regular activity.Hope this helps! Best,Christopher Pannucci, MDBoard Certified Plastic SurgeonPlastic Surgery NorthwestSpokane, Washington
Hello @Thriving770351, thank you for your question. To make an informed recommendation, more information is needed. A consultation is vital to establishing a surgical plan that meets your needs, meets your expectations, and takes into account what is possible. That said, an "internal lift" can refer to a variety of techniques utilized to provide support to the breast tissue during a breast lift. The result of a procedure depends on the surgical technique used, the individual patient's anatomy and healing capabilities, and how well post-operative care instructions are followed. Best wishes! An internal breast lift, also known as a breast lift with internal sutures or a "suture suspension" technique, involves using internal sutures to lift and support the breast tissue without the need for extensive external incisions. This technique can provide a lift and reshape the breasts, typically resulting in a more youthful and perky appearance. The strength and effectiveness of an internal breast lift can vary depending on factors such as the patient's individual anatomy, the skill of the plastic surgeon, and the specific technique used. When performed by a skilled and experienced plastic surgeon, an internal breast lift can provide long-lasting results. However, it's essential to recognize that while internal sutures can provide support and structure to the breast tissue, they may not withstand extreme or repetitive stress from certain activities. Engaging in vigorous physical activities or heavy lifting shortly after surgery can potentially strain the internal sutures and compromise the results of the breast lift. It's crucial to follow your plastic surgeon's post-operative instructions carefully, which often include restrictions on strenuous activities for a certain period to allow proper healing and support of the internal sutures.Additionally, the longevity of the results achieved with an internal breast lift can also be influenced by factors such as aging, changes in weight, pregnancy, and breastfeeding, which can affect the elasticity and firmness of the breast tissue over time.Overall, while an internal breast lift can provide significant improvements in breast shape and position, it's essential to maintain realistic expectations and follow proper post-operative care to optimize the longevity and effectiveness of the results. If you have concerns about the strength or durability of an internal breast lift, it's best to discuss them with your plastic surgeon, who can provide guidance based on your individual circumstances.
For the first 2 to 3 days after surgery, you will likely experience light to moderate pain, although this can be managed through prescription medication. Many individuals may experience some nausea from the anaesthesia used during the procedure, although this typically subsides relatively quickly and without intervention.1 week following the surgery pain levels will be significantly less, although moderate bruising and swelling of the breasts may continue to persist. At this point, many individuals are able to return to work and perform light daily activities such as walking.2 weeks after the surgery most patients will feel normal and able to perform all daily activities, although lifting heavy objects and bending should be avoided.
After you have fully healed from surgery you will be able to return to normal activities, including exercise. There are conditions that can impact your results such as weight gain and pregnancy. It is important to follow your surgeon's advice during recovery, including wearing a supportive bra.
A breast lift involves lifting and reshaping the breast with sutures, often permanent ones, and removing excess skin. If the breast is not too heavy from excess breast tissue or implants, it can hold up for many years. Pregnancy, weight gain and loss, and hormonal changes do affect the breast. Wearing a good supporting bra is best during the day, especially with exercising.
During the surgery ı fix your tissue in the breast. Your daily activities don't damage your result after surgery. You will wear your medical bra until one month. After that you can return your normal life.
