While this is technically possible it is very risky. You will require blood thinner management during and after surgery and this Protein S deficiency will need to be considered in light of all of your other risk factors. I would absolutely ensure that you are receiving care from a board certified plastic surgeon who can manage your risk appropriately around the time of surgery.
Hello @jennysaucedo10, thank you for your question. It is absolutely essential that you obtain clearance from your primer care doctor. Many conditions allow surgical procedures to be performed. However, an assessment appointment and medical examination are required to determine whether they can be performed. Best wishes! Alan Gonzalez. Best wishes! Alan Gonzalez MD, FACS. Dear jennysaucedo10,it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
I would not. You have an increased risk of forming a blood clot with that diagnosis and I would not risk having a pulmonary embolism for an elective operation. Now, if you have to have surgery because you have a cancer than of course you need to and take the extra precautions necessary to reduce your risk of a PE but for elective surgery we try to keep risk to a minimum.
Dear Jenny,The protein S deficiency makes you more susceptible to forming blood clots. A consultation with your hematologist along with their input will decide if it is indeed safe to proceed with surgery. They will make recommendations for using Lovenox or other anticoagulation therapy both pre and post-op.Best wishes,Dr. Taranow
Each plastic surgeon will have their own level of comfort. Some may not want to do the procedure because of increased risk. The majority will most likely need you to get hematology clearance and have a hematology manage blood thinners during and after the procedure. There is no single yes or no answer to your question. It depends on the level of your condition and how each individual plastic surgeon feels about it.Best,Mats Hagstrom MD
Thank you for your question. To provide a valid medical opinion I will need to see pictures of you body from different angles. I would suggest to be treated by board certified plastic surgeon with experience in this procedure, to get the best desired results. Respectfully, Dr. Emmanuel Mallol...
Hi, It is not unusual for patients to have simultaneous breast surgery and a BBL. Simply removing and replacing breast implants is fairly straightforward and there is usually a week to 10 days of discomfort for most patients at most. If additional work is performed this could increase the...
Taking semaglutide (commonly used for weight loss) can help reduce overall body fat, but it might also affect the fat transferred during your BBL. The fat cells that were transferred during the procedure behave like natural fat cells, so if you lose weight, there is a chance that some of the fat...
