I am interested in receiving a BBL with aggressive lipo to my hip dips/live handles. My BMI is 33. I was told I would need an extended tummy tuck first then the BBL using back fat lyrics. Is this accurate? Why do you think?
Answer: Tummy Tuck Before BBL Thank you for your question. Being that you have a lot of excess skin, I would recommend having a tummy tuck first. Then 4-5 months later, a BBL can be performed. The reason being that if you have significant excess skin and you get liposuction in that area, the area will look wrinkled, scarred, and irregular. Also doing significant liposuction on the abdomen and then having a tummy tuck later can predispose you to wound healing complications after the tummy tuck. I would recommend getting a proper evaluation by a board certified plastic surgeon. Take care, Moises Salama MD, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon

Answer: If you have a significant amount of excess skin or muscle separation in your abdomen, you may require a tummy tuck......... Whether or not you will need a tummy tuck before a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) with liposuction depends on the amount of excess skin and fat you have in your abdominal area, as well as your desired results. If you have a significant amount of excess skin or muscle separation in your abdomen, you may require a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) to remove the excess tissue and create a smoother, flatter abdominal contour. This may be necessary even if you are primarily interested in enhancing the appearance of your buttocks with a BBL. A tummy tuck can also be combined with liposuction to remove excess fat from the waistline and flanks. However, if you have relatively good skin elasticity and muscle tone in your abdominal area, you may not need a tummy tuck before a BBL with liposuction. Liposuction alone can often be sufficient to remove excess fat from the abdominal area and create a more contoured silhouette. Your plastic surgeon will be able to evaluate your individual situation and recommend the most appropriate treatment plan for you. It's essential to schedule a consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon to discuss your goals and determine whether you are a good candidate for a BBL with liposuction and/or a tummy tuck. We can evaluate your individual situation and provide recommendations based on your unique needs and desired outcomes.

Answer: Curves are cool I would recommend doing a lipo of the back and waist with fat transfer first, so you can sleep on your stomach for at least a week to not damage the shape of the buttocks followed by a standard Tummy Tuck. one to two weeks later. I have done over 3500 Tummy Tucks and just as many lipos. This is what works best in my hands. I find doing the lipo first allows for a shorter scar in the Tummy Tuck.

Answer: Sorta disagree but everyone is different Personally I would do the liposuction and the fat transfer FIRST and then do the extended tummy tuck second; I think doing the liposuction first allows you to take more skin out at the second surgery because the bulk is not there. That being said, every surgeon has a different vision and a path to get there with you. I would totally find someone who’s work you like and discuss what and why they want to do to get you what you want.,

Answer: Liposuction & BBL or Tummy Tuck first? Thank you for sharing your pictures. There are different ways to go about it. If done in two procedures I would suggest doing the liposuction & BBL first. You will remove the excess fat, and shape your buttocks. There will be additional excess skin from the liposuction that can be removed with the tummy tuck afterward. I would suggest consulting with your surgeon to determine what is best for you and your goals.

Answer: Hi! Agree with TT first Hi! Your question is a very common one I get from my patients. And the answer has to do with the amount of excess skin and the skin quality. From the picture, I can see a skin fold and stretch marks, those two things tell me about the amount of excess skin which will be best to excise with a tummy tuck and the stretch marks tell me about the skin quality. The skin quality determines how much your skin will retract after liposuction. I recommend starting with the tummy tuck and 3-4 months later get the BBL. In my experience, this will give you the best results :) Hope this helped and good luck!
