I had a BBL in August so I’m just at 6 months post op. I would like to lose a few pounds so I am thinking about taking the semaglutide shots. How can the shots affect my BBL? Could it shrink it if I lose weight? My focus is to get my stomach down a little more and lose on my arms and face.
Answer: Body weight chances affect the BBL result Dear Cosmopolitan12, A BBL fat grafting should result in healthy and living fat cell transfer from not desired areas like abdomen, love handles, etc. to hips and buttocks. Therefore weight chances results directly to volume chances of the buttocks. It is not important how you achieve this weight chances, in your case body weight reduction due to glutides. Think about fat cells like they are bags for storage- if you reduce your body weight, they will shrink, if you gain weight, they will increase in size and so will your buttocks

Answer: Answer: BBL and Semaglutides. Taking semaglutide (commonly used for weight loss) can help reduce overall body fat, but it might also affect the fat transferred during your BBL. The fat cells that were transferred during the procedure behave like natural fat cells, so if you lose weight, there is a chance that some of the fat in your buttocks could shrink as well. However, whether or not your buttocks will shrink significantly depends on how your body distributes fat and how much weight you plan to lose. If the weight loss is moderate and your body tends to hold onto fat in your hips and buttocks, the impact on your BBL may be minimal. That said, losing a large amount of weight could reduce the overall volume in the buttocks. It’s best to focus on gradual, healthy weight loss. Before starting semaglutide or any weight loss regimen, it would be a good idea to consult with your plastic surgeon. They can give you specific advice based on your BBL results and body type, ensuring you maintain your desired shape while achieving your weight loss goals.

Answer: Yes, it could. Hi. Yes, it could affect the result. Semaglutide will reduce your fat everywhere in your body. This includes your fat transferred to your buttocks. I would advise you to increase your workout regimen and keep a healthy diet instead of using Semaglutide injections.

Answer: Great question! Hi! We are seeing more and more weight loss cases with semaglutide and other weight loss medications. This medication works by decreasing your gastric emptying, therefore decreasing your appetite. It is not targeted specifically for fat loss, but as in any weight loss, you will lose fat. Unfortunately, there is no way of knowing where you'll lose more fat, but most likely will be lost overall throughout your body. So in that sense, yes you will see a decrease in your buttock fat with any type of weight loss. In my experience, I usually see a noticeable difference in my patients when they lose more than 10-15lbs. Hope this helps!

Answer: BBL and Semaglutides Dear Cosmopolitan12, every plastic surgeon has his own postoperative protocol which he recommends to his patients. I would suggest you to discuss this with your plastic surgeon.
