Thank you for sharing your excellent question. In general the amount of Voluma placed for facial rejuvenation is not so great as to permanently stretch out the tissues of your face. Additionally as the material dissolves very slowly your skin has the opportunity to recoil with it. Be sure to see an ASPS board certified plastic surgeon in consultation to discuss.
No, once Voluma results have resolved, your face will go back to normal. Keep in mind, it takes 1-2 weeks for final results with Voluma, Fat or implants are alternatives. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
Only small amounts of JUVÉDERM Voluma are needed to enhance the midface, so permanent stretching of the skin or muscle should not be a concern. The effects of JUVÉDERM are only temporary and should not have any lasting effect on your facial structure, even if you continue getting touch-ups long term.
Voluma which is placed in the deep tissue just above the bone. Because it is placed between two areas subcutaneous tissue and periosteum in theory some space is created. However, the voluma loses its volume gradually over time. As a result of the gradual loss of Voluma, clinically we don't see resulting dead space.
Hi,Voluma is FDA approved for up to 2 years. It wears off so gradually that there is no empty pockets in your skin after it wears off. The active ingredient, hyaluronic acid, is a natural component of skin. You are restoring the natural volume of your face that you lose as you age.Warmly,Dr. Liu
Thank you for your excellent question. Voluma is a great product. The product should not create a stretched pocket below the skin and muscle. Beautiful and natural results can be achieved. Please be sure to see an expert for an in-person consultation to fully discuss your goals and expectations in order to determine the best treatment plan. Hope this helps and best wishes!
Using Voluma at a younger age does not cause the underlying tissue to stretch or loosen prematurely. The amount used is so small that it will not create any permanent laxity and once it dissolves your features go back to the way it was before the filler was injected.
Provided that you have good skin tone and the injector is an experienced and expert physician injector then you will be able to have an excellent result without stretching the skin. Consult in person with an experienced and expert physician injector to understand your options.
The right amount of Voluma injected to the cheeks to give someone a nice, natural improvement will not alter the surrounding soft tissue or skin of the face.Voluma is made of hyaluronic acid, which is a substance that is naturally occurring in your body. Your body identifies and treats it as such. Voluma is slowly broken down naturally by your body and the surrounding tissues are not significantly changed by this.Find an injector who is a facial expert and can help you decide what is right for you. You can enjoy the look of Voluma without any long-term downside.Best of luck!
If you are young with good skin tone and elasticity, but without a defined cheekbone, Voluma can enhance the midface and give you a more elegant profile without "stretching" the skin. The amount of volume needed would be minimal, most likely a fifth of a teaspoon, possibly two fifths or two syringes and it would be placed over the zygomatic arch of the face. It is unlikely that this would "stretch" your skin. If you are older with laxity the Voluma will create a "lifted" look and distract the loose skin by lifting it around the zygomatic arch of the midface. When the filler is gone, the face generally returns to it's preinjection state.
Thank you for sharing your excellent question. Though some dermal fillers like Sculptra and Bellafill do create increased collagen formation the hyaluronic acid fillers do not work in this fashion. HA fillers augment soft tissues directly through their gel placement and their only impr...
Thank you for your question. If you cannot see the lump, you do not have to do anything with it. After injections, sometimes you can feel the product under the skin. If the lump bothers you, doing gentle massage may help it to dissolve faster.
