I had surgery (gyne) 8mo ago. Areola had scabs and left whitish depigmented spots (see pic). I've also attached pics of 3-month ago. The scar area experienced a color change (seems to be worsening in appearance) Is it advisable to wait for further healing?

Answer: Scars Dear Awesome11652, I understand you are concerned with the appearance of your scars. As your scars heal, it should flatten out and lighten. Loss of pigmentation or hyperpigmentation may also be experienced but will resolve over time. Always follow your surgeon's post operative care instructions when it comes to scar management to avoid any complications like infection and for faster healing and recovery. Answer: Depigmented Areola after Gyno Surgery It’s important in your case to consult with your surgeon for a proper assessment. They can evaluate the current state, discuss your concerns, and provide guidance on whether waiting for further healing or seeking additional intervention is advisable. Best of luck !
