How soon can I wear the breast band and how tight should it be?

I was a little out of it when the PS told me when I should wear my breast band. I can't remember if he said when I can tolerate it or if he said to wait a week. They normally give it to you in a week when you come back but since I live in the mountains he gave it to me before I left. I also am curios how tight it should be, should I feel light pressure or can it be as tight as I can stand? I have a very high pain tolerance.

If you are referring to the elastic band placed ro provide downward pressure I would call your plastic surgeon.  Personally my patients have it placed at the end of their surgery. " High in the front and low in the back" is how I describe the correct placement of the band.  The length of time I suggest is based on the patient.  The band should not cause pain anywhere so if it does remove it. You are still very early
in the post-operative period. It typically takes 3 - 6 months for the swelling
to subside and and implants to settle into proper position. Swelling usually
accounts for 10 - 15% of the initial post-operative appearance. Please
discuss your concerns with your board certified plastic surgeon. Also, make
sure you follow all of your plastic surgeons post-operative instructions
regarding level of physical activity and use of a support bra.

Hello,Don't get too worried about when and if to use your breast bands. There are no studies to suggest it does anything useful.  The same can be said for implant massage. Neither are needed for the implant to drop and fluff as it should. Best of luck!

The bra band is only used in certain cases where the implants are particularly high and or tight pockets where they may not be settling well. In some cases they can be used right away, and in others after the first week. It's highly variable and depends on your surgeon. Give them a call to clarify.
