Breast Reconstruction Revision
5 months post-op
Dr. Andres is just the best Plastic Surgeon in Phoenix.
After surviving breast cancer in 2016, I had two revisions from two different surgeons for contracture of implants after reconstructive surgery (changes in insurance forced me to change doctors). Although pleasant enough, those two doctors aren't even in the same league as Dr. Andres! In late 2019 I thought I had a pulled muscle from hitting the ground playing golf, and went to two Orthopedic docs and my Oncologist, none of whom were able to help. My pain was at a level 6-8 even with pain meds. Finally, I was desperate and had decided to discuss explant with Dr. Andres, who had been referred by a friend who also survived breast cancer. Within the first few minutes of meeting Dr. Andres, he determined that the pain I was having was actually another contracture. My first two revisions were under the muscle, which had caused a lot of pain from the beginning. He suggested putting the implant on top of the muscle, which was the perfect solution. I can't describe the relief I felt driving home from my meeting with him! The revision surgery was done in October, and the result is beautiful. Great size and shape with minimal scarring. Please don't see anyone else -- Dr. Andres is the best in Phoenix.

If you need plastic surgery of any kind, you must see Dr. Lewis Andres. I will be eternally grateful to him for giving me my life back.
I had a bi-lateral mastectomy after chemotherapy in January 2016, with contractures from radiation on both sides, an LD flap surgery on the right side in January 2018 and the return of cancer in in my Sternum in 2019. In late 2019 I thought I had a pulled muscle from hitting the ground playing golf, and went to two Orthopedic docs and my Oncologist, none of whom were able to help. My pain was at a level 6-8 even with pain meds. Each of those doctors kept passing me back and forth, telling me my problems were from scar tissue around the implants. Finally, I was desperate so told my husband I had decided to discuss explant with Dr. Andres, who had been referred by a friend who also survived breast cancer. I came home with renewed hope that I could save the implant, instead of explanting and going back to the place where I'd been that January 2016 -- thinking that I would have months of pain with surgery and reconstruction, or go flat-chested with a prosthetic. That had never been my choice, and it made me sad that I'd be in that position after everything I'd already been through.

I'm seeing Dr. Andres once a year now, and he's extremely pleased (as am I) with the look and feel of my implants. I can wear my clothes with confidence that people see me as a beautiful and confident woman. A note about his amazing office and nursing staff: they are also great. I love it when doctors and their people look you in the eye and speak to you professionally but with empathy. That's a difficult feat to accomplish when everything around us in fast motion. I'm telling you from a woman who has been through 7 surgeries with three different plastic surgeons, please don't see anyone else -- Dr. Andres is the best in Phoenix, hands down. Wishing you health and happiness!
